I am needing Help to lose that unwanted tummy

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys I'm back again needing some more help, I have been going to the gym for 3yrs now and I'm finding that I am pretty strong and have good shape muscle wise for my stature to give you an idea I am a prop so if ya can picture that well the one thing I am trying to lose trim it down and tone it up so it goes with the rest of my body now. The only problem is doesn't seem to be wanting to disappear I have been trying everything from crunches to sit up to the swiss ball etc etc nothing seems to be working.

So has anyone out there got any tips on what I could be doing differently to improve this??

Thanks for reading guys

Hi

You can't lose your tummy by doing sit ups/crunches all alone. You could do zillions of them and it would still stay there.

You have to eat proper food and cut out booze. (I don't know whether you are doing that already or not)

HIIT training may also trim the ole waist down a bit too.

I am 43 yrs and its doing it for me :)

Good luck

Like Marky65 says, it can be done!

From my experience, there's only two things ya gotta do:

a. eat less crap and more clean; and

b. cardio, cardio, cardio...

All the weights in the world won't strip fat if you're eating hi-carb, hi-fat, low-protein food, and taking in more calories than you burn each day.

Post your diet and training regime...

Yep it is no secret, diet and cardio like I tell all my clients. You just have to make a commitment. Hint: Perhaps start every day with 30min cardio before breakfast on an empty stomach and 1hour at night after tea before bed.

ds

Thanks for that I've never done cardio in the morning before breakfast but I always do cardio straight after a weights session for at least an hour whether its on cross trainer treadmill or going for a run depending on weather.

Oh also deeepsouth_nz we attend the same gym

  • 2 weeks later...

I would probably cancel doing an hour of cardio after the weights. if you did them properly your probably too buggered to give it 100%. still do 10 mins or so though afterwards.

start cranking it out before breakfast. buy a exercycle so ou can watch crap morning tellie while doing some. the time flies by and you feel good for the rest of the day. oh yeah, and have a chat with a dietician, so they can see where the pot belly causing foods are in the diet and wher eyou can trim them off

Thanks for the tips I will be giving them a shot, I have started doing cardio in the morning as I never used too I put this mint as treadmill which is in my garage I get up go out there and run on it for 30-45min before breakfast, But after weights try my very best to do at least 30min.

Question doing crunches sit up etc they are still ok to do right??

IMO it's all more about the diet. I've gone from 110kgs to 95kgs in about 10 weeks without barely ever touching any cardio equipment. Abs are half out, just need to continue dieting and pick up some cardio. Group classes are pretty girly but still good fun cardio at most gyms i think so i'm going to look into doing more of those.

Also hit the abs hard, not repetitive crunches just hard and heavy.
