Mr Olympia 2008!!!

Well,we're 5 weeks away. :pfft: I thaught I'd start this topic to keep u guys posted and get your thaughts on who's gonna walk off the Big Stage this year with that gold sandow.

As Im sure most of you have heard...there`s been some injuries this year keeping some of the top names out, like my main man Victor Martinez. He`s out with a ruptured patellar tendon. This last week we`ve just received news on another injury with Branch Warren pulling out with a torn tricep.

Sad news, not just for fans, but for competitors as well.We all wanna see the best of the best onstage compete against the best of the best.

But the show must go on and we still have some really big names in the lineup.

First off,26 year old Phil heath, with his first time on the Olympia stage and coming off a win at the Iron Man where he beat the likings of Toney Freeman,Gustavo Badell and our local boy Moe.

Then we have another 26 year old, with his 2nd time on the Olympia stage and a 5th place finish at his 1st Olympia last year.Thats rite...Dennis Wolf!!!

Next up we have, probably Jays biggest competition this year,"The Blade" Dexter Jackson. With, what he calls his best chance ever of winning the Olympia,we can be sure for a head to head showdown between him and Jay...he`s hungry.

Silvio Samuel is another possible top 5 finisher. He`s really brought up his package and, training with none other than Charles Glass,u can be sure of him bringing a gr8 package to the Big Stage.

Jay's definately got his work cut out for him this year with a lot a hungry new comers. He's also the only package of his kind with no Ronnie Coleman this year so he has to contend with those likings of Dexter,Dennis,Phil and so on.But I'm hearing that he's well on track and we can be sure to see a better package this year and when Jays on form he can be unstoppable.

Yes that is a shame about Victor. At the start of the year I picked Victor to win the Mr Olympia but with Victor being out I would have to pick Dexter to win the Olympia and Moe in the top ten.

Howz it going Gym Rat...I couldnt agree more with u...Victor is at the top of my list with todays competitors and with him being out its dissapointing. :( But,like I said, the show must go on and we have a pretty good lineup none the less. Im also routing for Dexter, but it all depends on the judges and with the mass that Jay brings to the table,he's got a gr8 chance of taking the Sandow.

If Jay shows up he wins. Politics and sponsorship has already decided the outcome. The real interest will be in who comes in second. And Dexter's got that on lockdown... Wolf 3rd, Toney Freeman 4th and Heath 5th.

Btw. Dennis Wolf finished out of the top 15 in his first Olympia.

correct and correct

everyone knows jay and joe are lovers

if someone is gonna beat him itll be dexter because i think its the last year he will have a shot at it but im hoping that wolf does and i havnt seen pics of him in ages so im interested to see how much hes improved lately...

Aint dat da truth...sponsorship and politics definately plays a big role in the sport.I`d hav to agree with the placings...Dexter in 2nd,Wolf in 3rd but I`d put Phil in at 4th,Toney and Silvio 5th and 6th.

My top five for the Olympia would be

1 Dexter to win

2 Jay

3 Phil Heath

4 Toney Freeman

5 Dennis Wolf

Yea I`d also like to see Dexter in 1st dude but u know how it goes.

It`s definately gonna be Jay and Dexter,no doubt, for 1st and 2nd...I mean anybody knows that.In my opinion I feel there`ll be another 1 on 1,head to head, battle between Phil and Dennis Wolf for 3rd and 4th.

I can also see a battle looming betwen Heath and Wolf which will be a very exciting battle for third and fourth. Also I hope there isnt a repeat of last year like when Victor should have won the Olympia not Jay.

Exactly Victor clearly won last year

I'm going out on a limb this year ....

1st Wolf

2nd Cutler

3rd Jackson

I always like the wildcard .... takes a freak to beat a freak .... go the wolf!

Yea thats whats so gr8 about this year...the lineup is awesome.Definately agree on the wildcard and would even put Phil or Dexter up top there.

I thought this initially as well, but the more I looked at it, the more I agreed with the decision. Victor was good, but he does have weaknesses.... not to mention the obvious synthol use in his biceps and calves... remember, the Olympia is the holy grail! If you want to win it you simply can't just be better than the champ..... you gotta knock him out!

There is no way with victor out anyone is going to beat jay if he turns up in good condition politics or not. Ronnie won the olympia for years under BSN .

it's going to be dexter, wolf and heath for the other top four places, not necessarily in that order.

I'm picking it

cutler

heath

wolf

jackson.

Branch warren is never going to be an olympia threat, If jay does not retire after this year which he might, next year is going to be interesting.

That top 4 is pretty much cut and dry...as for Branch...hes out this year with a torn tricep
