Over the hill at 32??

Hi All,

I've always admired the bodybuilder physique. At one stage I actually got into pretty good shape too. For some reason I lost my motivation and the result is that I'm 32 now and in pretty bad shape.

I guess my question is that at my age, is it even worth my while to think about getting into competition-like shape or should I let that ship sail?

Cheers,

Grant

Hell yes - all you 32 year olds should wait - ...

That leaves the playing field clear for us geezers (said he who's in his mid-40s and looking to compete next year for the first time) :pfft:

The bottom line is the old saying "you'll never know til you try" - so come on in!

Hey,

Thanks for all the replies. It’s enough to get my motivation back on track! I guess my next question would be that if I’m really interested in competing, should I go to a pro to get assessed and to get help with my goals? If so, does anyone know anybody close to Albany or in the North Shore that I could go to?

Later,

G

Just find a good gym and get a good Personal Trainer that can set you on your way.

Get all your base levels done (body fat, weight and measurements done) and then set some goals in a realistic time frame.

I am sure that guys/gals on here will be able to point you in the right direction for a good gym on the Shore.

Good luck

They just did an interview on TV over here with a guy who is competing at 79... YES 79!!!! he has won his division in the last four shows.. got to say he had a pretty good body for his age, it looked more like he was 50ish.

He only started training a couple of years ago after his heart packed up and he had to have a pacemaker put in, his body fat is low enough now that you can see the pacemaker sitting on his pec
