Rehearsels for the girls performance are going well. We meet on a Sunday night and rehearsels are for around 2 hours

with the girls obviously also practicing during the week to get everything downpact. We/I have had a few hick-ups this week.

One being Raechelle leaving the group since she is extremely busy with the workload on her since her new Fitness programme which is due to begin filming in the next few weeks which will of course take a great deal of her time. She is also training for the Nationals and she has 3 children with youngest being only 15 months old.

I can of course understand her feeling very pressured and having to make a choice, however losing her is a loss to the group. Some of the dance formations do need to change to work around one less girl but thats all ok. We have time to to do that. Only half the routine has been learnt so far so changes can easily be made.

The other hick-up is the talk on one NZ forum at present. I know you cant please everybody all of the time, but that particular forum is shocking for putdowns and back stabbing of athletes and anyone regarding bodybuilding in general. One of the jerks responsible for a comment is actually being sued by a well known NZer who is very sucessful in the fitness industry.

I know you have heard it all before from me regarding this topic - I can handle it when it is Mark and I they are rubbishing but what is being said about the girls or myself regarding the group is unwarranted.

Our industry is of course centred around physiques and displaying it on stage- female or male. So we did a provocative poster!! - I bet these guys look at far worse on the internet inbetween their rubbishing other people on the forums than what we have displayed on the poster.. How we look on the posters is not how we are going to be dressed on stage and everybody obviously knows this. But on this particular site the girls have already been targeted as " Jo Stewarts dance group - they are the girls who didnt make it in the stripper industry" One guy has made a statement so bad and has been suspended from writing for 1 week for being offensive and inflammatory. The girls and myself do not deserve that! We are all married woman with husbands who happen to support us in our sport. We are performing for the NZFBB - which doesnt happen to be an adult only show - dah.. do you stirrers not think we thought of that.

We - the group form to promote Fitness, Figure and Bodybuilding in New Zealand. The girls have been very sucessful in their past events in both Figure and Fitness and if they enjoy dancing - so damn what .. Their gymastic and dance and posing ability is the highest that any Bodybuilding fan would ever see in a group on stage at one time in New Zealand. The girls would be blown away by support they would get in other countries but for some reason cos I get the group together, they are judged before they even begin. Last time I had the group of 12 girls, the routine was based around cheerleading and posing moves with less than 1 minute of continuous dancing. Stripper wannabes they were not!

However these girls this year are the best of the best and I know alot of people are looking very forward to their performance regardless of smart arse comments going around.

Last week I began preparing for the guest pose with the girls but I have now decided " Why put myself through this only to be slandered and put down by the haters in the sport" so I am pulling out of my part in it. But I will of course support the girls and continue to promote the sport of bodybuilding to woman in New Zealand and to dispel the idea that weight training makes a female too bulky and unfeminine.

Anyway I am getting on with my day now. I shall keep of the forums. I only ever go to them when somebody writes to me and tells

me when I feature in them..

will keep you updated next week.

cheers Jo.

Thanks for that. Jo got an apology fron one of our memebers, it was a honest mistake as he posted some unkind words before he knew who the angels were, we believe it was an honest mistake and Jo was made aware of this.

I can't wait to see Jo and the Angels at the next NZFBB shows as I'm sure everyone will too

Hmm, well biggurl27, according to this blog post on Jo's personal website Rachelle is already out and Jo herself has now decided to do the same as she doesnt want to

"put myself through this only to be slandered and put down by the haters in the sport"

Although I see where Jo is coming from, I feel it is unfair that she is pulling out of the group and leaving the remaining 4 girls to cop the criticism that she fears. Perhaps cancelling the act would be in the best interests of the Angels if fear of criticism rests heavily on their minds?

Biggirl27, Maybe once again you can tell us Jo's thoughts on the matter?

Putting a professional team together like that takes a lot of time and effort. We should encourage the girls and look forward to seeing them at the shows.

It is silly to say to cancel a brilliant act just because a few unkind words, that were mistakenly made.

I'm sure if Jo would like a comment she will let the NZBB moderaters know.

I would also have to agree with Biggurl27 yes it dose take a lot of time and effort to put a pro team like that together plus it very good half time enterment for people who are going along to the show.

I think its awful that this forum is being though of in this way because of a few people who don't think before they post. :(

2guns, you of all people should know that even "harmless comments" can have serious consequences.

It's one thing to sling smack talk around with other people in here who are happy to sling it back but I imagine it's not nice to come into a forum and read really negative comments about yourself by people who don't even know you.

Those ladies perform for US and the people who support our sport. We should be supporting them too. (I know most of us do support them, this was mainly for those who use their keyboard before switching their brain on.)

My apologies to the Angels for my ignorant / mis-informed comment.

My comments were not aimed at the group and I had no idea who they were. When the comment of showgirls and who were the angels was mentioned I thought we were referring to the girls who actually worked down there. Wasn't until I was suspended that I googled the "angels" and found out that they were a dance group by jo stewart.

Ignorant and I apologise - lesson learnt.

I would also like to apologise although i will not lie and pretend i didnt know who they were like "Samoan_Muscle" just did. I knew who they were when I made my smartarse and slanderish comment. I did not think it would have hurt peoples feelings like it did and I should think before I type about this kind of thing.

So sorry to Jo Stewart and her Angels dance group for the comment.

Well rehearsels are on again today. It has been an eventful week. The girls have been keeping busy looking for their costumes ( rented from Mermaids lol) and having to learn last weeks choreography. Two of the girls chose to have an extra session with Tamryn our choreographer, so they should be in awesome form for tonights rehearsels. I have been videoing the girls each week and meaning to put it on my bebo page but I really havent decided whether to keep the girls routine secret or let it be seen for judgement..

The week has been interesting with lots of letters flooding in regarding the girls after the forum talk at the start of the week.

Now I know that my blog below sounds abit harsh etc towards the forums etc, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions - (Im just lucky that I vent mine here and if somebody doesnt want to read it they dont have to) But I do try to be fair and try to show both sides to every situation.. I admit that if we chose to shoot a half naked picture that we would be up for all types of feedback, good or bad, but I am also very defensive of my girls and for any of my clients for that matter - thats my job to of course and defend them I did..

I have just finished writing to a moderator on the forum regarding the matter. I said that the girls are all good and they are all looking foward to performing in 7 weeks time. They were in fact ok about the couple of commments made anyway and one guy did apologise and it really didnt mean to write what he did, he was in fact not even aware of what the girls group was... But it was me who was more upset for the comments made and I was just being the sensative one..

You would think that I would be well hardened up by now in regards to this sort of thing.. and I am normally am, but sometimes the timing just hits you when going through other sensitive issues that go on in our lives..

We had just lost Raechelle at the same times cos of her heavy work committments. If you didnt already know, she is hosting her own TV programme which will be NZ's best ( I am predicting that) fitness show ever and possibly the only one of it kind anywhere. It is all centred around woman gaining results through weight training and there is nothing we would like to see better than have bodybuilding portrayed to the public in this way.. So although we hated to lose Raechelle, we have lost her to the best and Im really proud of her.. I had also had some personal things going on as well since it was the anniversary of my mums death so that knocked me around abit.. Yeah I know we all go through that at some stage at our lives but when certain things started to appear on the forum it was like " Ok I cant handle this right now".

But things are all good now emotionally for me.. I recognise that people have the right to say what they want, where they want, and to who they want. And nothing said in defense is going to stop that, and there is really no point trying to.

I tried to defend my girls to prevent us from getting a bad name before we even got to perform but in hindsight I should of just left it as it was.

I didnt write about the forum specifically to moan for the sake of moaning or to put the forum down. The forum has some very good people supporting it, and it has its positive aspects of course helping newbies into the sport and encourage the sport of bodybuilding. But if only some of the critiques could understand that everybody has other issues in their lives and before they post "Questionable statements" they should perhaps think twice before posting it up for hundreds to see.

Anyway nobody has been permanently hurt over this and if anything, and if anything, it has added to the excitement of seeing the girls... Wow the girls are even getting famous over in LA now.. Jeez, they will be guest posing at the Arnold 2009 next lol..

And with my blogs, well I write to tell you all the good and bad aspects of life.. and to show that our lifes are constantly full of challenges and that life is up and down for everybody.

We all just have different challenges to conquer and this is a very small one compared to alot Mark and I have been through over the years lol.

Still on the subject, I thought that pulling out of my guest pose was giving the girls a chance to get judged on their own merits without having the biased opinions of the " Jo Stewart Haters" but hey that is going to happen whether I appear with them or not - the fact is that they are involved with me full stop so they are going to get that anyway..... The girls have had some fantastic support so far and they will be performing regardless as a few negative forum entries will not put them off. They love what they are doing so much, and they are fantastic at it.

As for me, well I have told my sponsor I will be there to entertain, and I always follow through what I promise. But I will refrain from mentioning forum statements in future and just keep to the opinion that everybody is entitled to their own opinions.

And next year, well I think I will have a male team of dancers..

Any applicants????

Everything is all good now. :)

I've put 2guns' name forward for the male dance troup.
