The Central North Island NZBFF champs were held in Tauranga today at the Baycourt theatre. Unfortunately I had to come back to Hamilton tonight so I could only make the Pre-judging. The turnout was huge, over 70 competitors and the seating was pretty much sold out. The competition was very well run so a big hand to the organisers from my point of view. Great to see Moe there too, fresh from his flight back from the states, now a NZ Citizen :)

I managed to take a few snaps of all of the competitors. Unfortunately my Fuji doesnt take the best shots in the dark on full zoom so bear with me.

Most of the categorys were very well represented with lots of standouts. The tall guy from Hamilton was a runaway in the juniors, and the classic class was very competitive. The ladies all looked amazing with some of the Physique women defying logic

However the biggest gasps were left for the last competitors to grace the stage. As you can see in the pix, Grant pretty much stole the show. He looked amazing, check out his back! He will be a force to reckon with at the Nats for sure.

So look forward to hearing the final results later on tonight. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and you will see me there next year, albeit on stage this time

And to anyone who was there.......... CHEST UP PAK!!!! :pfft:

 Thanks for the pictures soundsgood. First competition I have ever attended and I though it was awesome. Pitty you couldn't make the evening show. Despite not being in his Mr O condition, you can see why he's made it where he is now. Agreed Grant's back is awesome. Hope him all the best. Wish he had bigger calfs though to match the rest of him. Oh and yeah, how about that Peter Hunt. Insane dicing!!

ROFL "Chest up Park!...Yeeeah that's the one!!!" :pfft: :pfft:

Congratulations to all who competed, great to see quality athletes in most classes. Highlights for me where Ben who won junior men, his 1st show, Michelle Heggie! WOW! Complete transformation from last time I saw her as backstage boss at CNI's & Nationals last year, also Julie in Novice >55kg & Bonnie Novice <55kg. Close calls in the Mens Classic and Novice Figure Tall classes, notably Teneka's looking fantastic, taking the overall figure title, after lining up with Monty, senior figure, she's always a classy lady on stage, & Brooke from novice short figure. I have to agree with previous posts here, Peter's conditioning was impressive, and of course.. can't forget Grant, awesome! Guest poser & show organiser, Kaye O'Neil, total respect, amazing, beautiful physique & Big congrats to Moe, inspiration to many of us.

Nationals this weekend is obviously going to be a fantastic showing of NZ's top athletes.

DON'T FORGET - - Maree & I will be in WGTN spray tanning with both Jan Tana & Phil Kabakoff products, so please contact us ASAP to book times. Don't leave your tanning to chance, this is the Nationals! You deserve to look your best on stage.
