Yeah, I'm sure Mr IFBB Pro Mike Debenham will put on another awesome show this year!

I had a blast competing in it last year, and hopefully I'll be there again this year ... but definitely only as a helper. This is the first July since 2000 that I've been able to eat icecream and pizza and not feel guilty!! \:D/

Yes, it was an excellent show - very well organised by Mike D, with a great line-up of 69 top-quality athletes and a good crowd at both sessions.

As I was looking the music I had a list of the competitors and classes - and I kept a note of the placings. Unfortunately my list disappeared in the clean up, but I'm sure the results will be posted soon on the nzfbb website ... and of course top-3 photos of each class courtesy of Keith Jolly.

I do remember many of the winners: Daniel Hibbs won Overall Men and Best Posing Award (Male) - looked fantastic last night at just over 70kg (usually under 70) and will again be a threat for the top honour at Nationals.

Vicky Cattell won the Senior Figure Over 45 and then the Overall Figure, edging out Sheryl Paterson (current NZFBB National Overall champ) and Leanne Roulston (Open Figure Tall winner) - Leanne also won the Best Posing Award (Female)

The battle for Overall Women's physique was intriguing - requiring a re-judge when the first attempt resulted in a dead head between Karyn Kelly and Gretchen McFadden (Mrs. Debenham). Karyn eventually took it, but it was obviously a VERY close decision.

I was particularly impressed with the Classic Mens class (7 competitors) - won by Boris Shamraev. Our own 'weener lad' was also very impressive in this class and has qualified for Nationals ... make sure you come up, young man, and I'll buy you some of those shots you were enjoying at the after-function last night!!

So, a great show and now I'm bracing myself for the final organising touches to what should be a HUGE show in Masterton next Saturday - I'm VERY confident we will exceed 70 competitors!

What a great experience for a newbie like myself. This is what its all about. Great organistation, supportive crowd and fellow competitors, receptive audience, and a cold beer after the routines \:D/ . I learnt alot on Saturday, and now this little fella will piss off and grow for 12mths. Congrats to all winners
