15% Na sayers!

What would happen if I grabbed 15% of your take home pay each week?

Thats a rather large dent in any income. Its also going to be passed on to us so get ready for yet another increase in living costs.

I say go the trucks do it every day until this tax loving government is voted out :pfft:

What if someone died because an ambulance couldnt get to them then how would they feel? I'm not saying it is ok what has happened to them but IMO they should protest in a more sensible way.

How would you suggest they protest then DP?

Stop buying pies for one day?

Haha had a laugh off that one :pfft:

A friend works for a company that transports those big petrol tanks. Earns just over 90K, and gets tons of benefits (he'll tell anyone that'll listen ). I guess shift work + safety issues means they get the mega bucks I suppose ?

yeh but how many hours does he work a week?

on a side note, when did annette king become transport minister? wasn't she just the police minister??

i think the government play musical ministers half the time

She was also health minister when they tried to regulate natural health supplements (vitamins etc.).

The woman's an absolute cow (along with the rest of them)!

I do know of some truckiees that earn some big dollars, but its not just their salary. You have to remember that if a driver is going from say Ch Ch to Auck and they doa 5 to 6 day trip with a 2 or 3 days off, they are on say $50 plus pa and say $120 per night away, over the year that will add up.. BUT SO IT SHOULD!!!!!

My daughters step dad use to drive long haul on that route Ch Ch to Auck leaves at 2am Mon morning an woukld get home at midnight Fri. Him and my ex have 2 little one (plus my daughter) doing those hrs away from hm... I wouldn't do it for anthing less than $80 pa.

And as fo the strike Good on them. 2 of my clients have transport companies and luckly they do alright. but they were saying that most independent drivers were working on a 3% margin. now its down to 2%.

mr natural I'd ask you what you though if you had a company that you made $3 profit for every $100 you charged out at, and then Mrs Clarke said ï'll take another $1 of that thankyou"

Hey everyone has their own opionion but "F the truckiees outa my way"

That sort of statment adds to another forum on here about BBers thinking there are cool and have egos. you are an aggressive little fella for being Mr Natural!

Read the book "Absolute Power" by Ian Wishart - it'll open your eyes a bit.

To be fair, Ian Wishart is the Nicky Hager of the right-wing, so naturally anything he says about Labour will be pretty damning. For a balanced view you'd need to read Nicky Hager's new book (whatever it's called) along with it.

Having said that, I haven't read either.

good job from the truckies, my old mans one so full respect for what they did , how else do you get a government hell bent on dictating a nation to change ? the worst thing you can do is lie down and take it up the ass like mr natural labour loves people like you so why not vote for them ?

i'm fairly anti labour, i don't think we can afford to have as much of a social ideal like labour do anymore. The 15% increase on road user charges being a prime example of that, not to mention increase profit from increased fuel prices.I don't support what labour are doing at all,but holding me ups not gonna get my support, does that make sense to you all?????duh!!!!!
