I'm all for their protest.. and what a cool way to do it. Increased govt taxes leads to price increases everywhere else. GO THE TRUCKIES!

Working in the CBD, it also means a day off work today for me \:D/

My office is by the exit to the Terrace Tunnel, Wellington so I'm watching them all go past and they are LOUD!! \:D/

Yeah good on them. i saw the blockade they made into town on the southern motorway this morning. IT WAS FREAKN AWESUM TO SEE!! neva seen so many bloody trucks. and they actualy done a air horn mexican wave! Go the truckies!!!!!!!

What if someone died because an ambulance couldnt get to them then how would they feel? I'm not saying it is ok what has happened to them but IMO they should protest in a more sensible way.

i saw cop cars going through fine. every1 was still repecting the law and the ppl who uphold it. if an ambulance was going through there every1 would have pulled over to let it past. but an ambulance wud not have risked going through that traffic. they knew it was gunna happen in advance and they would have done strategic planning incase an emergency dus take place. if u had seen it ud have noticed cops and ambos at strategic positions inside the affected areas. so not much risk with the protest and ambos getting caught up.

nz relies on trucks more than any of realise. if they dont get the point through, we the general public end up paying for it. and probly 90% of ppl are backing this protest.

By the truckies doing what they have done they have created massive publicity and attention from the public. It is only when something as drastic as this is done the government is forced to stop and listen.

It is not the people that should fear the government but the government that should fear the people.

A friend works for a company that transports those big petrol tanks. Earns just over 90K, and gets tons of benefits (he'll tell anyone that'll listen :roll: ). I guess shift work + safety issues means they get the mega bucks I suppose ?
