So looking at the big picture.... We've had about 8 or 9 people establish that they are not happy with the way things are on here. Thats out of the 134 users that have been on in the last 24 hours...

Call me crazy but there seems to be a pretty huge majority in favor for the people who are happy with the current goings on around here...

Man there are some boring old nannas about!

Checked my stats, probably 9% of my posts I'm talking shit, so I'm a culprit! Apologies if I have taken up some peoples time with my posts but I'm not one to back down from some cheeky banter (arhhhhhhh stop ya moaning).

I find it both entertaining and mostly harmless fun, but not the hardcore nasty stuff mind :naughty: Most of the cheeky ones add value to the forums in conjunction with adding personality and humour.

Wow, your logic is astoundingly terrible.

I personally think the only annoying thing is when a thread becomes hi-jacked by smack talk.

If a thread is actually started with "Smack talk" to provoke others to do the same, I dont personally see a problem with that.

And in that if others participate in such communications, those people dont really have the right to turn around and cry about being picked on.

One big problem is some struggle with the difference between a joke made in good humour and a nasty comment. By both those who give them and those who receive them.

Post 1 "Hi guys I just flew back from Christchurch today, so I didnt get to the gym"

Post 2 Good humour "Why?. Were your arms tired"

Post 3 Nasty Comment"why should we care you yuppie git, "

pretty simple I think

It's probably worth remembering that the many nzbb members have widely varying reasons and motivation to participate on this site.

My main focus is on bodybuilding events and to be one of the official voices for the NZFBB and to pick up ideas and share knowledge relating to our events and organisation.

However, I'm definitely all for plenty of humour and fun in posts as long as topics don't go completely off on a different tangent with personal and destructive comments and accusations.

I reckon let those who are predominately trouble-makers or overgrown infants gratify themselves with their own inane topics, as long as they "behave" on the more deep and meaningful topics - which are the ones I will read and contribute to. I mean, it's like those people who complain about being disgusted by something they don't like to see on TV .... either change the channel or turn the TV off!

How do you clarify smack talk though?

I mean every other bb site forum i have ever been on is just full of smack talk these days, in fact nzbb is mild compared to most..

I hate to say it pseudo but i think you are fighting a losing battle trying to wipe out smack talk just like all the other bb website forums are, because where do you draw the line between doing nothing, warnings, or bans.

Taken from the Smack Talk thread:

Our definition of smack talk will be “intentionally inflammatory language, or comments that do not further the discussion in any useful way”.

If a post fits into the above description or is intentionally malicious, then its classified as 'Smack Talk' (man that phrase pisses me off now lol) and we go through the following process:

- For the first offence, the member will receive a warning.

- If the behaviour continues, they will receive a 48-hour suspension, then a 2-week suspension, and finally a permanent ban.

Obviously, the mods can't be here to man the forum 24/7, but we are most definitely not just gonna sit back and let this forum go the way other BB ones have gone.. and that's why we've ben trying to step things up as of late

Hugs anyone? lol.

Wow, your logic is astoundingly terrible.

Are there things troubling you "Mike Zero"?

What the hell does that even mean? :?

Anyway,

1) This thread was opened 8 hours ago, not 24

2) Not everyone will see it

3) Not everyone will bother opening it

4) And the remaining people, not everyone will comment (I wouldn't have)

People usually start a thread in the relevant section because they have a question. You only need to contribute to that thread if you've got something useful to contribute to the discussion. If not, then don't post in there shrug.gif

Remember the threads may be boring to you, but helpful to others who have no knowledge of the products or whatever the thread's about.

I kind of agree but think that you should "police" this new "section" just in case shit hits the fan and it gets out of hand
