Yeah, I don't think NZers are as keen on their non-Xmas turkeys as the rest of the world is. I know a lot of US bodybuilders seem to regard it as a staple part of the diet, but I don't think I've seen it here much outside the festive season. :-s

i heard somewhere that the ready roasts are injected with added fat to make them taste more tender and moist. same with those 10 dollar ready roasted chickens u get in countdown. best bet is to look up the nutrition info or buy it fresh and roast it your self

Sounds like a lot of work,......also sounds like a good thing for the budget

yea real good for the budget. nows the time to get them to :grin:

they are best in the months without r's in them

I BOUGHT A WHOLE FROZEN ONE AT fOODTOWN LAST WEEK, STRIPPED THE SKIN AND AS MUCH FAT AS POSS (ok caps lock off). Marinated and cooked in the slow cooker-was yummy and fed me for a few days. Worked out a bit cheaper than chicken, and just felt like something different.
