DB Spotting equip

To be honest, I'm not sure how useful those would be. I think you'd need a spotter just to help you rack the dumbells. :?

I vaguely recall seeing another DB spotting system ages ago. I think it used a permanent rope-like attachment that you hooked onto the Smith machine, and it stopped the DBs from dropping too far or too fast. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah I think I get wot you mean.

My prob is, because of the injuries I have in both arms, it stops me from doing heavy overhead type pressing movements. The weight is fine once its up there, and I can go heavy as. But the damage is done on the way up, which is a factor i wish to eliminate.

Theres really no body there during the day who can help me out, most are busy, either doing there own thing or are staff who work there (who honestly are not the most helpful people on the planet)

So I want to find a way of hoisting those DB's with out a spottter.

Hey Mikey6,

We use these at The House for DB Floor Presses, It is similar exercise to what is in the picture with the guy on the Bench. The bar is set at not quite lockout, the leather piece is wrapped tightly around the handle. When you lift off just rotate the hands slightly, so the hooks do not catch the bar, and the hooks will stay upright. This was a rushed photo so we did not wrap them tight and one rotated.

These give you the ability to do heavy DB work as you start your lift from the top like a Bench Press, instead of the more difficult position of at the bottom. You can load quite heavy DBs when training solo, which is why I made these. Like most things in "The House" no chrome, but works really well.

Stay Strong

OB
