Hey everyone,

I am a Pt at a womens gym and have a client who is wanting to do a competition. I have experience in personal training but have no experience in body building and that kind of thing. Where is the best place to start and the best place to get info for this type of training. Any help ideas would be great.

In all honestly you are best to pass her on to somone with extensive experiance with competing, it is not something you can really learn without going though it quite a few times sucessfully.

But welcome abord all the same

Gidday NewPT.

First of all, good on you for trying to research this for your client. Recognising the need, and then going the extra mile is admirable. Well done!

Secondly, I've kind of had an experience where a "normal" PT got me halfway there, and then a "specialist" PT took me the rest of the way. That worked reasonably well for me, although it's probably a good idea to organise it with your specialist beforehand, and agree on the condition your client should be delivered in.

Thank u to u all for your replys. Yeah was honest with her from the start and told her that i did not have this experience, a bit hard because she is a member of a small womens gym. I am ken to try and get her to the best possible start and have told her that things will be very trial and error. She is very motivated and keen and wont to give her the best possible information. Is this maybe too big a job for me to take on or is it something you can try and learn. Do you need any experience in it yourself???

In all fairness to your client, it is probably too big to take on alone and give the best advice, bodybuilding comp prep is nothing like body for life.

You may be able to work in a deal with a local trainer to do the work and you get a finders fee and watch over as a lot of the prep work can have crossover applications to regular clients.

otherwise email results@deangeddesnutrition.com for the advice of THE GURU he can see your client right via phone and email. You can tell him I sent you.

best of luck to you both.
