Hello everyone!

I'm totally new to weight training/fitness and thought I'd join the forum to get info and inspiration. It's amazing to see all the hard bodies and heavy weights being thrown around in here!

I'm totally out of shape (never been IN shape) and couldn't run to the letterbox if my life depended on it BUT that's gonna change!

I'm sick of being a lard arse and tired of not being able to enjoy life to the fullest. I figure that if I hang around with disciplined, dedicated peeps some of that will rub off onto me, even over the net.

Also (PLEASE don't hate me) I smoke. I've decided that when I finish the pack I'm on now THAT'S IT! It's time to start caring about my health. Wish me luck.

Hi Sakura and welcome. What are your short-term goals, tone/weight loss, long-term: eventually a comp? You go to the gym at all at the moment? Or any excercise?

Can't afford the gym but my partner has a bench in the garage. It's got lat bar and leg curl thingees. Competition might be a long term goal but at this stage I'm just concentrating on eating clean, losing fat and increasing my fitness. My body is an unhealthy mess at the moment.

I wish smoking was my only vice :shifty: :pfft:

Hi there and welcome, if you want to give up smoking that is great, it can be hard work though but it will help you if you are just starting to get back into fitness, and the excersise will give you something else to think about.

:smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :grin: Yep its bad as, but I know loads of bodybuliders that do it and yes very bad for you as we all know. I'll give up when I feel like it. I have given up loads of times, once for 3 years.

Sakura when you do give up get those patch thingies as the gum tastes like shit, not that I have been munchin any turds, they just don't taste good! You will feel increased hunger, vit C helps with this or any citrus fruit. And chewing normal gum. Patches are free though Quitline.

At home you can do a wee workout with what you have. Get a list of exactly what you have including any free weights and you'll get some suggestions from the bods on here

OHHHHHHH but they can..... ask MARKUS RUHL :pfft: :pfft: but jokes aside good luck with your goals. I myself smoked for about 10 years. Clean for 2 years and never looked bak. Stay positive, stay motivated and taer it up with the iron. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Give me a few months and I'll post some "after" photos. I've got the "before" ones but they're hell scary :shock: and I wont be posting them until I have some better one's to put beside them.

I'll think about starting a diary but really it would just be full of me moaning about not being able to eat all the tim tams that I want. :wink:
