Yeah my first comp I struggled with the diet, but stuck it out, I just wasn't ready in the end and did the next one, not much time from April/Oct or Oct/April so all good. Better to be realistic and not compete looking like shite. Hard to get your head around and feel like a failure momentarily

If you can't stick to a healthy lifestyle and diet then your in the wrong sport in my opinion. People bitch and moan about what they have to eat, then complain that they are unable to keep the fat off or the muscle on. Eat well and clean - stay lean and strong. Eat shit food all year round, and wonder why your stuck doing hours of cardio to get the fat off.

Have you dieted down for a show SamWelly?? Until you have, you have no idea what it's like...

f*ck, eating clean is easy, especially when there is lots of it. Eating clean on restricted calories for months on end, not so easy. Give it a go sometime then you can speak from experience.

I was meaning all year round. Calorie deficit for months? Jesus, must be holding a fair bit of fat if you need that long? But your right, I haven't dieted for a comp - but I was reffering more to Diamonds post above.

Restricted calories doesn't necessarily mean a deficit...

Yeah months...show prep can start anywhere from 8 - 16 weeks out. Depending on how long your competition season lasts will determine how long you are dieting for.

I aint complaining Sam, and I do eat pretty clean all year round.

I know for a fact that a lot of boys on here eat shite all the time and just stay around the 10-12% Its much harder for females.

Boys are lucky and only need the 8-12 weeks girls usually 12-16 weeks, hence my early start for physique comp prep. I still got over 15 weeks woo! A little treat at this stage is healthy, got to listen to the body and feed the machine

How was that pizza 2guns?
