Drinking coke while you work out?

samoan muscle i have a question for you... what do you think about bodybuilders drinking "coke" (yes the sugary fizzy drink kind) while they workout?

I actually don't know any bodybuilders who do that (except having heard it being mentioned on here) ?? I don't see how it could be of any benefit either - during insulin cycles, if I did a pre-workout slin shot, I would sip a carbo cola during the workout tho...

lol whats the difference? expect carbo cola probably has more sugar and cals.

The difference buddy, is in the type of scenario. D-piece (i assume) is referring to bodybuilders or wannabes or both drinking coca-cola during their workout as some sort of energy sustenance thing...I would drink a carbo-cola because of my pre-workout slin shot....

yes i am meaning a person not on steroids who just thinks it is a good idea to drink coke. i always see people drinking those horleys colas at my gym(yuppies). i just dont understand why that would be ok for the normal non steriod or anything else taking person.

do u think it would be advantageous to have some fast acting carbs before and during myworkout?

i have brown rice with my meals before i workout then 30-60mins after training i usually have some creamed rice. i dont have any problems with energy but might it help muscle recovery more?

i have heard of marathon runners using flat coke and flat redbull as a way of replenishing glyco stores, and a little caffene to decrease the perception of fatigue. it could be similar for bodybuilders,

sipping would be the same as having a low gi substance before hand i would think. just my opinion

Ha, I think he was asking to take the piss out of me. But yes, on compound days I drink flatcoke/powerade/carbo cola inbetween heavy sets.

A bit of glutamine mid workout does wonders too apparantly with longer training sessions. Yet to try it tho...

....."one and a half gallons of pure water during my workout....."

Why don't you rather go for some energy drinks and workout shakes?

....."water during....chicken breast and rice post workout...... like my mama used to make it ....,I have been doing this all my life, why should I change it?

he did mention in the same interview he has some Syntha-6 pre bedtime......

When he was on tour in South Africa he ordered an 12 egg omelet and had a cellmass while waiting for his order and he said this stuff really works.....not sure if he was referring to the eggs or the cellmass... :shock:
