Was doing seated dumbbell shoulder presses and hurt my shoulder just before, never had pain there before...

its not real bad but i can certainly feel it...like a very sharp pain in one spot, its along the clavicle, like at the front where the trap meets the delt? thats the best i can explain it..

just wondering what it could be?

ice pack, anti inflamtories, and massage, get it early so it can be fixed. go to a physio asap

Good advice, ACC pays and nice speedy recovery.. Also make sure you really warmup before you hit heavy weights. Easy to say but really the case when it comes to injury.

Hmmm...is it a pinch in your trap muscle? If so, I usually get this if I don't warm up properly when I do DB Press...lasts for a day or so and eventually comes right...

Yeah thats what it sounds like, it was really sore last night I was expecting to wake up this morning in alot of pain but doesn't seem too bad, it only hurts when i lean my shoulders forward, and a very tender spot at the end of the traps, im not usually a dumbbell press man so guess it could be...well hoping it will come right soon

it sounds like the a/c joint right where the trap ends. i used to get it bad from heavy d/b bench and d/b shoulder press from going wide and low.i founds by limiting my range of movement and not going as low as possible that it stop flaring up.took me many sleepless nights of rolling on it to figure it out, also try some rotor warm up stuff before you start your heavy pressing movements

this is the most likely as opposed to rotator where by the pain is more commonly focused on the front delt. Good advice anyway.

iv got this problem too but seems to be more serious. so injured it whilst doing dumbell shoulder presses is a good enough reason for ACC?

Injured back while doin deadlifts was good enough for them in my case!!

You should do standing press until you get the cuff strong enough to handle the higher press strength seated.

DB Press is risky IMO. You NEED a spotter, and restrict the ROM - too deep and the shoulder is susceptible to injury. Slow the reps down and don't touch the DB's together.

Incline Barbell bench helps with shoulder press stability I find. You f*ck your shoulder up and its game over for a while - I got close to needing surgery a year ago pressing the same weights as you with really bad form. I am pressing nearly double the weight now with no pain - its all about how you perform the decline of the press...
