Which whey protein is better?

Hi,

EAS Whey Protein 5lb or Optimum Nutrition Whey Gold Standard 5lb?

I have read the reviews on Optimum Nutrition according to the Bodybuilding website its great and been a winner for 2005, 2006, and 2007. Maybe its a marketing thing??

I am currently using the EAS 100% choc whey. It tastes great and results are good. Its almost finished. So just wondering if i should the buy the same one again or try the Optimum nutrition one.

Just wanted to know you thoughts on this? Maybe somebody tried both of the above and probably got better results than the other one.

Thanks

Optimum nutrition is the way to go good value for money and personally I've had very good results from it

Cool. Thanks. Interesting to know, as i compared the supplement facts between both of them and their is not much difference at all. So wonder what makes one better than the other one?

I know lot of products give different results to different people depending on diet, excercises and all.

I crank the whole foods and get organised with the tupperware and all that stuff.

Same here. No excuse not to eat well - even for those of us who work 6 days a week.

Pretty much all the major brands come from the same cows. Go for the most affordable with low carb and fat. If your only having one or two a day and eating proper food then the difference in ratios of isolate to standardised whey will not be noticable between brands.

Why don't you regail us with a little anecdote "2guns", you never fail to impress us with the fascinating insights into your life.

ok being serious, i do buy protein powder an think most people on this site do too, it has other uses in foods. not just for shakes.

nzmm u say u dont buy protein powder, y is that?

a few reasons spring to mind, but ill give u the benefit of the doubt and ask u.

Just hate the taste of the stuff...

I can eat whenever I want at my job, so I'd rather have real food than some fowl tasting powder.

BTW 2guns.. I'm gonna chuck a couple pics of me up here soon... and sorry man it aint gonna be jerkin off material for ya.... the tranny look is no more 8)

What I really don`t undestand is - how you guys manage to find so much money for branded proteins?

I eat 5 kg of proteins per month, and, thanks to Fonterra for 20kg of whey protein concentrate for just $400. I think its much better to eat plain protein without any supplements like artificial flavours, sweeteners, etc and much, much cheaper

Doh! Protein 101: of course it has BCAA's in it - whey is a complete protein providing around 20-25g BCAAs per 100g protein. Some companies will add a meagre amount to their product to make it look fancy but most of the commercial brands are just pure whey. You're actually going to get more bcaa's in the fonterra unflavoured stuff because you're getting more protein on a gram for gram basis as you don't have the added thickeners, flavours and sweeteners.
