In need of some help with L'Glutamine

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone out there has used in the past or is presently using L'glutamine, reason being is that I have been taking this supplement for about 2 months now and whilst I have noticed results in certain areas of taking it I honestly cannot stand the taste or even handle it! as in some cases it has caused me to be sick, :puke: I have tried mixing it with water as per instructions, my protein shakes and even some juice but still to no avail!

has anyone else had this problem?

My trainer, nutritionist, and other competitors I know have highly recommended taking this supplement hence why I started taking it

Any feedback would be awesome :D

yes well balance do v gud capsules and the powder

last year i started w powder, coz i always gagged trying to swallow pills, but the glutamine 4 me, was all grainy on ma teeth n tongue felt like i was swallowing chalk in water. so after about 2 tubs of that i changed to the pills theyr much better.

maybe jus try mixing the dose in a little bit of water and swallowing it really fast (like you would a pill so it doesnt touch the tongue) thats kinda wat i did

What kind of glutamine are you using? Good glutamine shouldn't really have much flavour to it - it can be a little sweet but generally mixed in protein powder or juice it shouldn't even be noticable. It should dissolve pretty well so shouldn't really be grainy either.

Powder is way more economical than caps. You need at least 5g glutamine per serve for it to be useful to muscle recovery otherwise you just end up feeding your digestive system, trying to get 5g doses from capsules normally means about 5 to 10 capsules a serve which can get expensive.

mix it with a little juice or your shake. harden up, take your medicine and stop being a pussy about it.

Theres a difference in being a "pussy" than to being a "hero"

If it was just purely the taste then yes I would stick it out but it actually makes me physically ill as well hence me wanting constructive feedback! to see if this has affected anyone else out there!

I have mixed it with both!!

Are you gluten intolerant or have allergies or sensitivites to corn or wheat? Glutamine is typically derived either from corn or wheat and people sensitive to either of these or with gluten intolerances can have problems with it. You might also want to check the use by date just to make sure it's not expired.
