they dont get a car!

they drive around in a police car then after the shift they drive home in their OWN car

you know what I mean, during working hours they get a cop car to drive in

wel not all drive around in police cars, sum get shafted to the courts, 8 hour day of standing around.

and sum1 mentioned entry level 50K for constable, thats not take home. 50K - 1/3 the govt takes = just over 30.

Give the cops a break! They do a bloody hard job and get paid stuff all for it.

I wouldnt say they get paid stuff all. A cop fresh out of the academy starts on 50k (from what I understand) and gets a car..

For what they do and put up with thats stuff all and as mentioned good old uncle Helen takes a good part of that.

Guess its all how you handle it bud. Don't find the job too challanging TBH. As long as you go to work with the mindset that you might be kicked/punched/stabbed tonight, then its not too hard to avoid shit situations.

Its only hard if you're not smart...

I've worked at clubs all over the place.. here, Dublin, London etc.. and I can count the number of times people took a swing at me on one hand. At 95kgs I'm not the most imposing monster, but having a mouth and having a brain is far more useful than simply being big.

I don't do it any more because it seems the only bouncers that work these days are morons who lower my IQ every time I speak with them.

:pfft: well said, most of the bouncers iv talked to aint with it or do it just to get into fights. the smart ones never seem to do it for long just for that bit of extra cash.

I always have a good laugh at the big poly dudes eating BK on the door. They are only good for 10 seconds of agression till there heart gives out.

Everyone I work with is a fair bit smaller than me, but we all come from fighting backrounds. I worked with an ex K1 fighter for a while :lol: Size is not the be all and end all of door work (or policing) but it does help. A mate of mine who is very small, but covered in tattoos never has a problem. Intimidation comes in many shapes and sizes I guess. Police are better off having tazers and mace than big biceps.

And NZMM, It's not how many people take a swing, its how many people manage to hit you :pfft:
