East Tamaki gyms

Has anyone/does anyone train at Revitilise gym Harris rd East Tamaki?(formally east tamaki health and fitness)Im looking for a gym close to there as works just down the road. How do you find it? I went there today for a look its got quite alot of old equpiment but as its website claims is bb orientated. I rang this body business gym that al-ex has joined and they were more expensive. Can anyone give any comparison?

if its the one on the corner opposite BP its by no means flash, its pretty "industrial" and gets pretty busy after 4pm when shift work starts finishing.gear is kinda old as you said, but gets the job done, guess it depends how many bells and whistles you are after. as for 'BB orientated" there are defianatly some pretty big guys training in there....only place i've ever seen where people actually seem to train in steelcap workboots

yeah my mate owns it.

without being biased its a good gym thats been round for a while but its got the good old skool equiptment u cant find at other places and its got everything u need.

and yeah a few units training ther at times.

everyones all sweet ther too with no attitude

It was the first gym I went to years ago. When I was a member, it was pretty sweet. Quite a few big units and competitors there. Good dudes too. I havent been there in a while but have heard good things about it. I also hear its better than most gyms around that area as it is not filled with half rep heroes and pretentious jerks.

yea i think revilatize is a pretty awesome gym..... ... da equipment is all gud as well....... its a bit old but deft all gud and well maintained......... the gym is being upgraded slowly as well..... like da cardio gear ... new screens...... etc etc..... i often train there when i need a change from my gym....... id b a member ther but im also from out west ..............so i do casuals every know and then........i think from wat i know they r slowly introducing classes as well...... just in case you r interested..........hope this helps....

yeah it's a good gym. i've been to one in howick, all seasons, etc but i love revitalise...the people that go there are better than the howick lot...and the weights are steel not plastic/rubber like other newer places.

its big n open and i've very rarely ever had to wait for equipment.

yeah good gym plenty of weight's, good for b/b'ers and powerlifters ect...

ok so it seems i have to find this revitalise now - to see it if nothing else!

Body Business has a lot of old style machines - one tricep machine that i have never even seen before - and it way cool. Sadly the only thing i really miss there is a smith machine, don't understand why there isn't one there. That said i quite often can't train until 10/11pm and Body Business gave me a key - not many gyms around here offer 24/7 like in the city with the keypad on the door.

yeah they maybe able to blend some kfc into your shake if you ask nicely too.

has anyone seen the gym by the corner of the road davie holden botany is on....i'll find the name, it joins harris and greenmount, i only noticed it the other day?, i work on harris and currently go to all seasons but its stupidly busy there and think its time for a change?

and revitalize is even cheaper.. i checked it out earlier in the year and thought it was a good no frills bb orientated gym with friendly staff. its worth a look.

"revitalise" (formerly east auckland health and fitness) is a good gym, that's the one on Harris/ti rakau intersection
