After reading the what you bring for lunch thread.. I just have to know.. How big are your grocery bills per week!

I am trying to calculate mine..

I brought 3 kilos of chicken from foodtown because its on special this week that was $47 I think

I have to spend on chicken, eggs, brown rice, tuna, vegetables, fruit, cottage cheese, the daily protein shake, occasional protein bar, vogels bread, spices, a ridiculous amount of votamins and mierals...

I actually cant make a figure I dont budget well I just buy it as I need it but I do buy in bulk when something is cheap so my cupboards are really well stocked. Also I am trying to lose fat and gain muscle so I dont eat as much as many others here.

Oh and then there is day off sunday which is identical to all other days but I go out for dinner and have steak.

Im going to try and keep track next monday till sunday and see what I spend on food. IM hoping others might be better organized and tell me.. just how much does it cost ya :)

How does "freakin' huge" sound... without the spend on protein and supps, simply chicken, meat, and veg, it's still large.

The extra cost of whey, eggs and supps (even just creatine, a multi and trib) probably adds a good $250/month, on top of a weekly bill the same size at the New World for the two of us, and I'm only going thru two chooks and a topside, two-three 400g cans o'tuna, and salad greens (oh, and feeding the better half, she gets real grumpy if that doesn't happen LOL).

Like you I'm still tring to lean-down so I'm not eating heaps - I shudder to think that the bill would be if I was seriously aiming to bulk-up.

Apart from the changes in diet I was trying to work out whether costs have actually gone up too - the bill used to be around $200/ week, but with more processed stuff in the basket than is now I'm eating 'clean' :pfft: Glad I can't eat cheese at the current price...

..and of course eating clean/ fresh/ unprocessed means the coupon card doesn't get you diddly-squat by way of discounts, which only apply to the processed stuff :doh:

And yeah I can only imagine what the bills are like for those bulking!!

And feeding the other half is a good plan :P haha

enough to feed a village of africans for a month.

Hahaha thats so true to cracks me up;

Well im tight, live in a small center, buy in bulk, at best prices, and only on basic supplements, Vit C, Multivitamin/Mineral and WPI

Cost is around $90 a week for a bulk diet.

Im so grateful, I wouldnt be doing this if I had to spend 100+ P/W on food.

sounds cheap, i averaged $300-400 a week back in the 1990s but did eat a whole chook virtually every lunchtime, rump steak and potatoes afternoon meal and again at dinner, 12 eggs omelettes for breakfast with cooked rice and tomato, 3 protein shakes a day and 12 egg whites for snacks in between, plus a heap of muscle-slice bars for snacks, carbo colas during training and weekend spendups....currently spend about $100 a week maybe $150 tops, no point in eating more unless training volume increases significantly :)
