.....much controversy regarding that topic.. of being a steriod..still excluded as a steroid in the FDA steroid act,I guess depends on how the manufacturer choose to display the nomenclature..... being in NZ I guess it is illegal, and I agree with you it is an active compound. Disregard my opinion then except for the M-stack part.....

The question was for the best non steroid stack - Hyperdrol-H2 contains 6-bromo aka 6-bromoandrostenedione (6-bromo-androst-4-ene-3,17-dione) which by classification is a steroid and certainly not legally available OTC in NZ.

6-oxo is banned in NZ too.

Nice to know, Flex, thanks. I was wondering - are there actually any US OTC products not already available in NZ which could be brought in, or is the only benefit the fact that they're so much cheaper in the US?

Also, (altho it's possibly a new thread) is the Pharmac website the best or only place to find out which of the ingredients in US OTC products are banned as a category in NZ?

E.g. is there any easy way for a newbie to work out which ingredients are pharmacy-only or otherwise controlled, so's not to hose money down the drain?

I the NZ anti doping agency have a number you can text to check if a product is legal for athletes (but I think anyone can send it). I'll try to find it.

Not really - a lot of the manufacturers are starting to create names or use variations of chemical names on their nutrition panels. This makes the product look a lot more advanced than it actually is, however also makes it hard to know what is in a product unless you do a little research.

Basically stay away from importing or using any of the current "legal" prohormones in the US because they are essentially over-the-counter steroids and the only reason they are legal in the US is through the fact that the FDA haven't figured out what's in them yet.

You can get a few of them in NZ - Punch supps have a pretty good offender on their website now - Axis labs Furazadrol which contains unmethylated furazabol, and nutrition plus have Gaspari Novedex which on the label contains 3,17-keto-etiochol-triene, aka 1,4,6-Androstatriene-3,17-dione or ATD which is banned for all tested sports and will show a positive test for boldenone.

Muscletech is particularly good at hiding phamaceutical ingredients in their products - mainly in the products intended for the US market but also in some of their international versions - the US version of Nano X9 contains yohimbine, the international version has replaced it with Picamilon HCL which is a combination of two things - GABA (a Class B Drug in NZ) and Niacin.

You'll also find this rather fancy ingredient in the nutrition panel of a lot of Muscletech products - n-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine - this is the really long way of saying melatonin - another restricted med in NZ.

I'm not sure if medsafe are really up to speed on most of these ingredients though, so they seem to just be taking a bit of a "lets stop everything" approach at the moment.

By Pharmac do you mean medsafe? http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Profs/class/ ... cation.asp

As far as finding a website that lists all the banned stuff there isn't much at this stage other than the website above. However it's not particularly comprehensive, nor is it up to date. Some of the natural bb feds have a list of banned supps on their websites. If I find enough time I might put together a list or something and post a link to it.

my wife does the nutrition for quite a few competitors and quite simply they are having a combo of a good trib product and a good creatine product and a good gainer. Mostly nutrex vitrix, size On, the Vitrix has 80% saponins so is super concentrated & she has them take the Size On just at night instead of during training. I use it and can vouch for it and got heaps of free samples so if anyone needs a sample of it PM me
