pain in the ass

Recommended Posts

I had my first jab nearly 3 weeks ago, and a second one nearly 2 weeks ago. The area was a bit sore after the first few days, but then pretty much went away. But two mornings ago I woke to find my right glute (where I had the first jab) was quite sore (more so than after the initial jab) and noticeably swollen. It's like the whole upper half of the muscle has become tight, and when I tense it you can definitely see and feel a big lump that goes right across the top half of the muscle. All ass jokes aside, can anyone tell me if this is a normal reaction? I injected in a sterile environment, took all the precautions etc.

oh! re-read your enquiry and i was gonna say thats a usual reaction a few days after injecting depending on what your using.ie test prop sus 250.

but for it to swell up and go like that after 3 weeks i would get to a doctor asap,it could well be bad news.

thanks. I have another appointment with this doc on friday. If it doesn't get any worse I'll wait til then. Any 'in the meantime' advice? I'm trying to massage it, or will that make it worse?

get to the doc asap and get some anti biotic's the sooner you do the better your chances of not having to get it cut open, you don't want that.i don't know if massaging it would be a good idea.

you mean like go to the A&E tonight? It's not THAT uncomfortable, but does seem to be an odd reaction to have almost 3 weeks down the track...

yeah my advice would be that, asap. 3weeks down the track, its most likely an absess forming. the sooner you get some antibiotics to help bring it down the better your chances of not getting it lanced and drained, not nice.

i'll see how I go over the next few days... thanks for your time and advice.

Next time somthing similar happens, try using high dose Ibuprofen or Voltaren topical (both anti-inflams). Also can help to train straight after you jab to get blood through the muscle.

If the site becomes red, itchy or hot then a course of Augmentine (broad anti-bi) can be useful to have on hand.

Everybody's systems react different to different synthetics so maybe you need to find something that doesnt give you the reaction or try a different site..

Based on what I've heard anyway!
