Sorry about the slow reply. Here's a couple of reasons why we can't go back:

1) This forum layout allows for more advertising, which means (hopefully) more money. The last version ran at a loss. Now I'm not expecting to become a millionaire, but it would be nice if the forum could pay its costs.

2) The structure of this new forum gives me a lot more flexibility to add new features and modules. I'll admit there's not much evidence of this yet, but the additions will come eventually, I promise!

EDIT: If anyone got a "database connection error" message when they tried to log on tonight, you're not alone. I've spoken to our web hosting company about it, so hopefully they'll make some changes and we won't have a repeat of that.

I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) most of you function in the real world, have a job etc. But when an internet forum changes it's layout... People get sand in their vags. Took me, what - less than 3 times on here to get used to it? Please tell me where I went wrong, trying to understand some of your guy's logic :-s

this thread was started obviously to see wat peoples opinions are on the new forum layout, if u cant handle peoples opinions maybe u should just "get over it" or "leave".... or go back to school :pfft:

Im guessing the journal section has more posts and views than any other section, is it possible it could have its own window on the front page rather than being doubled up with the bodybuilding/powerlifting section?

Sure can. I asked about this earlier but no-one responded. But yeah - I've been keeping an eye on the activity in each forum, and I agree it makes sense to move the Journals into their own top-level forum. So shall it be.

I'll put it directly after the Bodybuilding/Powerlifting section, but remember, you can drag the forum windows into whatever order you like...
