My gym is at home, when I get sick I still get the urge to train, start out ok but end up just giving in because I feel like crap. Depends on how sick you are too. I still train with a cold. Just listen to your body. Like Flamer said, do you really want to make everyone else sick too?

Ditto what camo said, youre body already busy enough trying to stop you from dying from whatever you have to push weights and then try to recover muscle tissue aswell!

To go kinda off topic

I've never had a Flu vacine before, and I dont usually get sick over winter, but i'd hate to get sick this winter as ill be training hard.

What experiances have you guys had with the flu vacine?

Worth getting or no?

Nope, with most things I don't train while sick - the ol' immune system's under enough pressure fighting a virus/ bacteria/ whatever, without the additional pressure of catabolism/ anabolism...

Besides, there's a real safety risk if, for example, you were to collapse while using heavy weights - FWIW.

I'm another one who agrees it is not a good idea to train when you are unwell.

As well as compromising and delaying your recovery, plus the risk of infecting others with your bug, it may also be that (over)training has contributed to making you sick in the first place!

So IMO I reckon it's best to take some medicine, drink plenty of water and rest up until you get better - your body will thank you for it!

With a head cold is fine (if you must) and that old saying 'about if you have stiffness or soreness below the neck down rest up'...is entirely true. Flu type symptoms are the last thing you want to train with as people have actually died as a result of having associated inflammation of the heart and / or its associated linings with the flu and so have trained and in this weakend state....lets just say NOT good!

I had a dilemma a few weeks ago as the glands in my neck swelled (I was sick) but what technically is the 'neck down?!' Anyway ended up having a few days off and then easing back into it with some cardio and half volume workouts....
