Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site but I've been training for around 2 years and hope to compete this year (finally!)

I am relocating with my job to Auckland (from Christchurch). I'll be working in the East Tamaki area but not really sure if there are any good gyms out that way. I note that Club Physical has a club there - can anyone tell me about it? I've looked at their website but it's always helpful to get members feedback also.

I've also seen Body Business has a club in the area - any reports on this one?

If all else fails, I could join Les Mills city and just put up with the commute!!!! :shock:

Not sure what area I'll be living in yet either - I'll probably choose the gym first and then look - I'm sure you all understand!

Any feedback appreciated!

Hey Fitkate. I used to go to the Mt Albert YMCA which is a good gym with some really helpful people. Not exactly close to where you'll be but I do recommend a visit.

Good luck with your search and let us know if you do find a gym of interest. Possibly post a gym review when you find one

If your looking at Les Mills you might need to put a second mortgage on your home to pay for membership. Not cheap in the city.

FitKate, body business in E Tamaki is good, thats where Im at. But apparently Revitalise is better, with more big guyz and a little bit cheaper. We got a flyer which said $9.95 a week for Revitalise!

i went and had a luk there as well...... new cardio gear arrived .... luks pretty gud

Depends what GOOD is.

If you want BB or PL or group exercise or eye candy, I'm sure there are different gyms around to cater for your needs.

But I reckon you'd be better off trying to hook up with a training partner on here and meet at their gym and then kinda get a feel for that gym. Try a few gyms and then decide from there.

I'm sure there are people out there who be willing to help you out.

If you want I could show around the Otara Fitness Centre :shock: :grin:

There is Club Phyiscal Te Atatu out in west Auckland.I thought Club Phyiscal Te Atatu is a very nice gym plus on there notice board they have this great photo of Toney Freeman when guys like Dexter etc were in NZ for the Pro in Elite show back in March.

I take it the CHOCOLATE MEN aren't that wonderful then huh? :shifty: I tell you what tho I trained a mate at the Don Oliver gym at the airport on saturday and that place is pure STAR TREK type facilities WOW!! And the mirrors must be curved coz you look huge in them :nod: sorry bit off topic some good looking guys and girls there too :lol:
