Fitness First - Castle Hill (Sydney, Australia)

This is my first gym that I have belonged to in Sydney. I was a member of Goodlife gyms up in Brisbane and was really impressed by their clubs. Goodlife is not opening up in Sydney for a few months yet so in the meantime I had to find a club to go to.

This particular Fitness First is located in the Castle Towers mall. I was a bit apprehensive about going to a gym located in a mall as generally they are quite small. Quite the contrary with this one. The gym boasts the size and facilities of a regular club. :)

However, all was not well last night when I trained around 5.30pm. There were 4 toilet cubicles and about 5 girls waiting to use them. I looked under the stalls and sure enough 3 out of 4 toilets were being used to get changed in. I very nearly yelled out 'Do you girls know what toilets are for? They are for urinating or defecating, not washing your bloody clothes!' But I controlled myself and gave a deathly stare to those who walked out of the toilets after changing in them.

My frustration did not end there. Obviously these particular gym goers do not know how to return weights let alone comprehend the numerical order that they are positioned in. A 5kg weight does not belong in a 17.5kg slot and should not be followed by a 22.5kg! At my last gym in Brisbane, I once heard the Fitness Director tell a member that if they didn't return the weights to the correct spot then they would be banned from the club!

*Sigh* I guess one has to tolerate such idiocity at times.

Yep, spent five precious minutes last night looking for the 28s, found them hiding in the 10s...grr! And that's AFTER they re-labelled all the racks.

Gotta laugh, tho - my gym posts feedback from members' comments and complaints, and someone was complaining that there weren't enough powerpoints for their hair-straightners in the changing rooms. I dunno how those things work (on account of me using Pledge furniture polish) but surely the gym changing room isn't the place to work on your hairdo? :?

Good luck !
