Best exercises for working middle/upper chest

i used to have a really average chest. this old guy i know who has been around the gym scene for years told me to forget about flat bench for at least 3 months and just hit the incline barbell presses. so i did that, occasionally varying the width of my grip ( wider for outer chest and closer together for inner chest ) and it brought my chest up really quick.

my humble opinion incline dumbbells, maybe turning palms in at the top of motion,

Yeh ive heard of them regularly being done with ways, you'd get a better contraction at top of movement doing it your way.

And if your doing DB flies, a little trick it to turn the thumb side of your hand to the roof at the bottom of the motion, stimulates top area of chest
