Buying gym equipment

singular

Recommended Posts

Hey.

Anyone know where to buy decent home equipment without

1. the incredibly inflated prices or

2. extremely limited selection -

of certain mainstream outlets?

I'm looking for a calf raise, leg press, dip/chin station, maybe a GHR. It seems I would have to sell my organs on the black market to afford these, if I could even FIND them. :)

Any thoughts?

You could check with your local gym/s. I picked up a seated chest press, shoulder press, multi-hip and ab-crunch machine from Les Mills in Wellington when they were up-grading their equipment. Commercial quality of course and they had a heap of other stuff which got snapped up pretty quick. Just got to know the right people sometimes too

Thanks for the suggestions - Trademe is pretty good if I'm feeling ultra-casual and don't mind waiting. I got an excellent squat rack off Trademe for $200 which I'm really happy about. Don't see those there very often!

I just don't really feel like waiting right now LOL.

Manu - OMFG awesome avatar! Pity I have zero connections to people at gyms. I go to Les Mills in Ferrymead but I'd feel like a creep-o just going up to someone and saying "hay anything here you don't want??". Not quite like that but you get the picture..

I'll just keep waiting on Trademe anyway. :)
