Gerenaly the rule of thumb is that you can significantly increase your work load when on, however I think doing this is the down fall of many people, I think you are better off in a mass phase to train 3-4 days a week hard and heavy with moderately high volume and spend the rest of the time recovering.

I find I get the best mass gains when doing a 3 day a week split, but I must admit im always tempted to do 4-5days. Whet cutting 4-6 days.

So my theory is to use the gear to grow more rather than train more.
