Workout logs

Recommended Posts

Hmm... Interesting. So you only have one box for reps/weights per exercise?

I'm assuming you do more than set, so how would you mark up an exercise like this:

Set 1: 10 reps on 20kgs

Set 2: 8 reps on 25kgs

Set 3: 6 reps on 30kgs

The reason I ask, I'm thinking about putting some sort of workout log facility on the site - something a bit more advanced than just the Journal forum. But I'm not sure how it could be structured to suit everyone's different workouts.

Hey that sounds like a primo idea Pseudonym, maybe you can post a bit more about it and get the peeps on the board to help you out.

Nope :)

Just the one workset, although that's often broken up into 3 sets separated by short intervals - a type of rest-pause training. I still log the total reps as a single total though.

If I was setting up a spreadsheet for multiple sets, I would just add lots of extra rows and maybe end up with only 2 or 3 workouts on a single page.

Setting up an online version would be nice, getting it to work for different workouts would be hard. I'll give that some thought.

Remember this is all theoretical. It's the kind of thing that takes a lot of plannning, and may never come to pass anyway. So don't get too excited just yet! :D

In fact, I think there's a new version of the software we use to run the forums due for release soon(-ish). It could be significantly different to the current forum software. I'd want to wait for this to come out, rather than building anything on top of a version that was going to be obsolete soon.

But it doesn't hurt to try to nut out a "universal log template". So... as you were!
