I used to drink alot! Went overseas and spent most of my time doing so...

But training is too important, I don't enjoy being known as the loud chick at parties, I don't enjoy the hangovers, I don't enjoy wasting so much money!

Now I don't drink I don't really have too much in common with many of my old friends either which just goes to show there wasn't much so the friendships eh?

Snap Evie - me too! Used to drinks heaps!

Now I enjoy a red wine every now and again, but that's about it - can't imagine going back to the days of waking up on a Saturday morning and physically not even being able to roll over in bed!!

I crack up when I get up early to go to the gym or do some cardio on the weekend and see people wandering the streets just coming home from a night out, or doing the walk of shame :pfft:

Haha yes!! The walk of shame.... I've done one or two of those in my time. Nothing better than a shameful stroll home at 10am and walking past a conservative looking family and reeking of booze and cigarettes and looking a mess!

I think a good thread would be funniest stories of your drunken mishaps... I've fallen asleep in town a few times. One time I was woken up by young kids in a skate board park... another time I fell asleep in a shop doorway and was woken by the owner yelling at me!

Feel the same way, couldn't do it now! Love going past those people stumbling home after a night on it when we are heading to the gym, bright and early, all the while knowing that for most of those people that day is a write off, they feel like death warmed up and probably wasted a couple hundred dollars pissing it away!

Anyone feeling a little righteous?

Ummm… who me?

Not so much, just happy to have moved on from that stage in my life.

:pfft:

So when your old and on your death bed and reflecting on your life, are you going to say; "Gee I'm glad I went to the gym all those times instead of socialising and having a great time...."????

It is possible to socialise without getting plastered!! In fact 1 or 2 wines leaves one far more able to socialise than 12 beers. 12 beers generally means your not worth socialising with - unless your attractive when you slurr and dribble??!!

And on my death bed I will be happy to reflect on my achievements - not sure if going out and socialising qualifies as an achievement.

12 beers is just a warm up. You should see me after I polish off a bottle of rum after doing a dozen!

You see its all about mentality... I like to take a leaf out of the Barbarian Brother's (David and Peter Paul) way of life: There is no such thing as a weak body, only a weak mind.

I can get plastered and go in to the gym the next day and do 18 with 315 on squats, or bench reps with 365... Its all in the mind.

P.S. no one's ugly at closing time :pfft:

I do

I never train Sundays, so Saturday I'm always on the chop. I really don't understan people who say they cant drink because of training or something. Getting drunk is one of life's greatest pleasures....

So you're on the 'chop' week days also? And you still have the ability to do this:

I can get plastered and go in to the gym the next day and do 18 with 315 on squats, or bench reps with 365... Its all in the mind.

I really couldn't face it! At least you don't let it stop you training. That's cool some people don't get hung over.

Personally I hate smelling the alcohol reeking out of people the next day! Let's hope you're not one of those....

P.S. no one's ugly at closing time

Can't argue with that if you still haven't had success at closing time, but in the morning you may find the beer goggles are off ...

But good topic, fun to see who drinks and who doesn't, I am just not able to handel it and I know full well I'm better not drinking.

Yip! I am!

Cause going to the gym is like socialising to me. I'm also going to reflect on how much I enjoyed competing! I won't be thinking damn I wish I hadn't pissed all my money away... I could have had better health care and might not be on my death bed (he he :pfft: ) just being naughty.

Nothing against anyone who drinks, I just enjoy training and what it does for me. Getting drunk each weekend and not being able to train, makes me (personally) fat and poor!

Yeah I often drink during the week as well... Don' always go out, just like to do a quiet dozen with friends. On my recent travels overseas I drank 26 days in a row. And when I say that it wasn't one or two, I was severly intoxicated every night  By the end my insides hurt so bad I couldn't laugh or bend more than 45 degrees because of the pain! But it was all worth it!!!

And you sound like your doubting my charm??? Havnt had success by closing time!? Sometimes you can just get caught up chatting with mates or occupied with mundane things and then as an afterthought getting laid seems like a nice thing to do

Evie if your ever curious to what a night out with NZMM is like i'd be happy to oblige.....

:pfft: Soooo funny - Can't imagine why your insides were hurting.

Worth it, why? Just wondering, you had a blast and it was fun? All cool. You remember much of your travels?

At first I thought you were bragging about your drinking ability (big deal) but then I know what forums are like so I won't pass any more judgement - who am I to do so eh? Most of my friends and workmates claim I'm no fun cause I don't drink, (although I don't really care so much) so say no more.

Afterthought - ha - if you drink that heavily I'd have to question the ability not just the charm, that goes for anyone drinking that much, not singling you out there.

Ha ha night out with NZMM please I told you, I'm a light weight, couldn't handle it! And pretty sure BF would not take kindly to it some how?

... ok enough I must stop commenting now... no really

It was completely worth it because of the adventures I had that I wouldn't be able to think of or have the balls to do when I was sober! And I have photos to help me remember my travels! Nah, I made sure I did all my touristy stuff during the day and got trolleyed at night...

And my abilities have never been call into question 8) If anything I get better the more I drink.....

Hope your at least going to get on the savage sometime over the holidays. Just one day, go on, do it for the website and then tell us all about it

id agree with most of wat u sae evie but not that

tend to go to the gym to w.o :P

Yeah true! That's what I've been doing wrong :pfft:

But I don't really go out so much, especially leading up to the last comp, so it's close to sociallising when you are there 2-3 times a day ... but you're right, go there to train! Good point.
