Cardio - What time of the day for YOU

I've merged the two topics for you, guys. :)

I've been doing cardio pre-brekkie.

For those of you doing it after a workout, how does it sit with your post-workout nutrition? I guess if you're only doing 30mins, you can still get a shake inside that "window of opportunity" - is that still as effective though?

I have been doing weight training for an hour followed by 45mins cardio. I then go home & have 25g simple carbs followed by my dinner. Is working ok like this.

Pre- breakfast - then it is done. I feel more disciplined during the day - more likely to eat clean. Then later in the day I will hit the gym - and can just focus on weights. I used to do weights and cardio together at the gym - but now by splitting them I can just focus on my weights at the gym - and I don't have to hold back enough energy (let alone motivation) to climb on a bike or treadmill afterwards. Investing in a treadmill, bike or some form of cardio equipment to have at home - so you can do it first thing in the morning (after numerous cups of coffee etc) is great.

I heard that cardio before breakfast is quite catabolic?

Also, how much cardio do you competitive bodybuilders do when cutting up? I've seen some guys going for 2 hour long power walks everyday.

Low intensity cardio tends to increase my energy levels as i get fitter? anyone tried out high intensity interval cardio? and how did it affect your energy levels during the day?

Catabolic yeah ive also heard this but from experience it works a treat for cuting up.

As for HIIT i get sick of feeling like shit on the treadmill for 20 mins so only do it if my mood allows :) Im just doing 5 min jog warm up then 30mins brisk walking in the morning and trying to hit as many hills as possible and i feel great the whole day and the fats droping off

Pre-breakfast (but after a cuppa coffee and a asprin) and last thing at night for me - and that's with a sorted diet. Does it work ? dropped over 6% b/f in 9 weeks (still got a looooooong way to go, tho! :boohoo:

the eca stack miunus the adreniline, any good? does it do anything extra?

I wasn't using high doses of caffeine (just strong black coffee) - but I'd say it proved its worth, got me thru 40 min of cardio up to 80% max hr.

No bad side effects (prob due low dose), but I was just following the plan... and I gotta say that overall the plan worked just fine, so I'd use it again, Caffein/Aspirin included.

its not an ECA stack if ther is no ephedrine being used, and the ephedrine is the main part. basically the caffeine enhances the effects of the ephedrine and the asprin apparently makes the effects last for longer.

however, as far as i know there is no evidence/proof that using asprin in the stack has any real benefits.

Asprin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, so It helps to minamise muscle trama caused by resistance training and also helps to keep the blood thin.

I am also not sure about its interaction with E and C but it is still a worthwile part of your regimin.

I take 100mg/day year round, and anyone using gear would be well advised to do this.

as far as ive researched the asprin in a ECA stack is to thin the blood becuase the ephedrine/caffiene/cardio will be pushing the blood thru your system/heart at an extreme rate in comparison to what its used to

more of a safety precaution

...I could be wrong tho but thats my understanding

personally i just have a coffee with a green tea and a bit of splenda so its drinkable
