Need to know more ab exercises. Finding it really hard to shift the fat tires on my hips. Can anybody help?? :pfft:

I'm in no way trying to ba a smart ass but abb exercises won't help in the slightest, general fat loss is what you are looking for through diet and exercise.

as dumbell said, diet and cardio is what will move the weigh not abb exercises. This is the sspot reduction therory which as most no is not true. these exercises will strengthen your core but if the body fat is there you will not see the results.

Hi there

there best thing I have found for shifting weight from anywhere is running. Interval training is phenonmal if you are low on time but if not, long slow jogs are great. Just make sure you run somewhere nice so it's not boring. I find in the forest or by the beach great.

If you have injuries or detest running with a passion, start walking up hills at a substantial pace. Three time a week at least.

BUT: Neither of these will have any effect if you don't eat sensible portions and watch the calorie intake. To help with this, I find a great time to do my cardio is that when I am most likely to 'eat for the sake of eating'. e.g. if you graze after dinner - book your walks in then.

Hope this is of some relevance for you

Cheers G

LOL... It's not Jenny Lynn's quote... she's just used it.

As for the ab exercises - check these exercises out.

Like the others mentioned though, you won't shift bodyfat by doing endless ab work - it's cardio & diet that will sort that out.

Here's some info on HIIT which is a good form of cardio that can be performed in a short time - it's good for sparing muscle while burning fat.
