well done Ed. Great to see you are doing the nationals, It looks like you have made some good improvements since April. I also admire your passion for the sport. Good to see your legs are not a weak point but a strong point. Also if you are down in the wairarapa, come and have a workout at our gym. would be good to train with a fellow competitor. I noticed your post about your class at the NZFBB nats, you mentioned that other guys you competed against were over 90kg. I know for sure that we were in the over 80kg novice and yes I was over 90. infact 98kg that day. I have gained a bit since Nth Islands, now 106kg. damn that chocolate is good. Don't you wish you could have some Ed. At least I haven't put on 13 kg since the north Islands , aye WALDO.lol can't grow if you don't eat up aye.

MMMM chocolate :pfft:

I can almost remember what that tastes like.

If I am ever down your way it would be great to drop by for a train.

I drive all over the lower North Island for work (I make TV commercials) so who knows.

what a cool Job Ed. sounds like fun. So yeah our gym open 24/7 365 days so you can never miss a train if you are down this way. Just give us a bell so we can give you access. Good luck for the Nationals. I hope you do well, and you already have esp considering all the weight you have lost to get yourself thus far. take care

You're looking fantastic, Ed - definitely improvements made since your first comp in April ... well done! And I know you have a good set of "wheels", so if you can nail your water loss this week you will be in great shape for Nationals.

Not really a good turn out in the open mens classes.

Yes, it is a bit surprising considering the large number of Open men that have qualified for Nationals. Mind you, there might be a number of late registrations this Friday to boost the numbers.

It's probably a good thing that we decided to change the Open Men's class divisions this year from 5kg splits to 10kg - it we hadn't then most of the classes would only have 1 or 2 competitors!

Overall it's nice to see a good spread of competitors i.e. plenty of classes with 3 or 4 competitors.

No I am not surprise that open men classes are down when they know the testers will be there to look after them at the night show.

Where as at the NABBA nationals they had a very good line up of open men with out the testers

Hey Muscleroids

The numbers for the Open men at the NZFBB are better than that of the NABBA nationals. in total there were only 6 open guys and 1 international.

This years NZFBB I beleive will almost have an Ex Mr NZ in Most classes. I for one cant wait. Dan hibbs in the under 70s with Supri (sorry for spelling) Myself (Mike D) , and i here Phil K in the 80 to90 along with NABBA tall Mr NZ Paul Wood So dont you worry about dissapointing classes. there will be plenty of blood sweat and even some tears up on stage this weekend.

Muscleroids - I totally agree with Mike D. Certainly there were some impressive physiques at the NABBA Nationals, but the quality (and numbers) will be better at the NZFBB Nationals. The battle between Supry and Daniel will be special, as will the heavier classes with Mike D, Paul W and others, including Scott Reynolds who will probably be in the best shape of his life for this comp.

The testers can be at any show - regional or Nationals, so that isn't the reason for the lower numbers. There will probably also be some late registrations to boost numbers. Plus two of last years Open mens competitors now have their pro cards, so they can no longer compete at this level (while they are an IFBB Pro).

Gotta agree with you MT and Mike the line ups look incredible, can't wait to see Daniel and Sup going at it toe to toe, and round 2 from the the Sth Islands (photos have been conspicuiously absent from the organizer/judge/competitor - I suspect to keep the threat the boys from down there will pose a secret) . I'm glad I'll be in the audience after the last thrashing Mike D gave me, I don't think I'd want another.

More importantly though, the testers have been around since the late 90's, so that theory doesn't wash when different feds have had good and bad years throughout that time,

the big questionI have is Muscleroids: What the hall are you doing on this website (and the internet for that matter) at 3 in the morning!!!!!!! damm get some sleep :computer:
