Freaking out!!

Hi there,

I am a total newbie, but decided a few months ago to compete in the North Shore NABBA show on 3rd November - Shape class (hence the freaking out!!) I've been training for years but never really had a good reason to, so figured I needed a goal to get me to push harder and see some decent results.

I've got a trainer, so that side of things is going pretty well, it's just the nutrition that I'm a bit iffy about. That, and the fact that I've been to a comp recently and realised how much work I have to do in just under 10 weeks!! Not expecting to win anything, just don't want to look out of place up there - that's my goal!!

Hey Kookoo. Well done on finally taking the plunge!

It's good that you're freaking out now. This is the time when it will make a difference - much too late to start freaking out with only a fortnight to go. Also, if you get the nerves out of the way now, you'll be cool, calm and collected when the day of the competition does arrive (at least, that was my experience!).

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks! Well I took your advice and I'm now a couple of weeks into my new eating plan - upped my protein and I'm even allowed two glasses of red wine a week - STOKED!!!!

Training's going well - planning on doing some body fat tests next week, just to ease my mind in numbers that what I'm doing is actually making a difference!
