Sourcing B12 Injections

Recommended Posts

I am trying to source B12 injection, for purely medically reasons, not to improve performance. I know that you body builders some times use it to enhance performance & energy. I have had blood test from my doctor, which can back in the boardline range, my doctor is saying that this is fine, and there is nothing wrong with the level. I disagree, and have been suffering from fatigue, weightless and dizziness. I have managed to get a doctor to give my shot, but he refused anymore, and called me hypochondriac even through after the shot I felt a lot better than I have for a while.

So I know that you can purchase the B12 solution from the chemist without a prescription, but I afraid to ask, and where would I get the equipment needed for the injection. I was hoping that someone would know a online place that I could get the B12 and syringes, or better yet if there is place in Auckland that does B12 shots that is not a doctor, naturopath or something like that.

All from the chemist, the b12 and the pins etc. It's actual medicine class is "general sale" meaning it could be sold on the supermarket shelf. It techically  isn't pharmacy only or pharmacist only medicine. But most pharmacies who stock it choose to treat it as one. For the reason that the pharmacist will explain to you how to use it. They will ask why you want it and likley record your details on a database. Some pharmacies will administer it for you, costing normally around $15. But most will require it to have been prescribed from a doctor to do this for you.

I'd probably just listen to your doctor.

As Realtalk says, you can get everything you need over the counter at the chemist. You just need to ask them for it.

Some pharmacies sell B12 and some don't - so if you're feeling awkward about it, ring them up first and ask if they currently have B12 and syringes in stock. Then when you've found one that says yes, you can stride in confidently and ask for it.

ok there are side effects of too much b12. you don't want too much, not sure if your doc explained this to you.

i too fall low in various areas regularly (mainly iron levels) but of all the tests i've had, b12 has never been an issue whilst using multi vits (consistently as high as they can measure, 999 or something) proven from blood tests which i've had both with and without consistent multi vit consuption. you've already had a one off injection which should have sorted you for a LONG time unless you have some serious liver issues.. i highly recommend starting from the basics atleast get a 1 a day multi vit in there ( this one can be found cheap at most nz supermarkets https://www.blackmoresnz.co.nz/products/mens-performance-multi) and sort your diet out... actually the diet doesn't even have to be that 'healthy' for most normal people to store up a good supply of b12, but i don't know your lifestyle/training regiment either so especially if you are quite an active person then you should absolutely prioritise diet.

also out of curiosity, in case there are underlying issues. did you get blood test done a period of time after the injection to see if levels dropped off? how long after? then did you follow up again after another period to see if it's dropping off still? do you still have copy of blood tests, what are those b12 levels?
