USPA invitational - US Open

Any if you guys hear about this uspa comp happening next year. $170,000 of prize money up for grabs. 100 lifters. Raw with wraps. Top Lifters from all Feds being invited to compete. Most interesting is seeing Brett Gibbs and john haack have been invited probably amoungst other ipf lifters. I think for their weight class it's about $35-$40k for the winner from what I gather online. Which is a lot of money! Would be a 24hr weigh in and with wraps so they would be competing potentially against guys like amit Sapir. However they would probably be banned from the ipf for 12 or 24 months in not sure on the penalties. I think john haack is gonna do it judging by his social media so I hope Brett does to. Their rivalry is awesome and I think if one does the Comp and the other does the ipf worlds it'll be a pretty weak win at the world champs. Hopefully enough too ipf lifters do it so the ipf has to give in somewhat. Some of the info above might be a little inaccurate I'm just posting what Iv seen at a glance.

With that kind of money on the table with good chance of winning why not risk the ban.

Patrick morrison could go well against Brett and them now his bench is coming up . he just squatted like 290 in sleeves the other day and his dead is outstanding . Would be an awesome comp to get some of the IPF guys in .  Imagine the buzz olio they did it in shw .  That's why pro dogs will never quite be the world's best until they can get guys like Ray in there.

Brett says he's not going to enter - told me last Wednesday at gym but says Haack is entering and as a result will be suspended for a year from IPF but that actually means he will miss 2 x IPF worlds due to not being able to do a qualifier in time. I reckon the sport needs more money and I hope more lifters do leave IPF now that other feds are trying to bring cash to the table.

 

Skeletor - Brett is natty remember so I would hope Pat would go well against him... rofl! Also though, Patrick has moved up to 95s because he weighs round 85 and the big comps are 2 hour weigh in's ( saw that on Markos's page )
