KFC and fish n chips are both meals that seem like good ideas initially, but every time I'm disappointed,

AGREE!!!!!

i ate kfc on wednesday and was amped hard hangin out for it when i ws walking in the kfc on lincoln rd and then i stuffed my face and felt like shit afterwards!! :pfft: :pfft:

... the thought of it and walking in to place is often more exciting than actually eating it..

Don't mention Burger Fuel birthday vouchers to me. I signed up a fortnight before my birthday, but they waited until a few days after my birthday before they processed my registration. To make things worse, my flatmate's birthday is just a few days after mine, so of course he rubbed it in when his voucher turned up and mine didn't.

Sushi, Rice crackers (sour cream & chili flavour), dried fruit, protein bars, yoghurt covered rasins... yummo!!! That's an ideal cheat day for me, along with DVD's on the couch, no wonder I'm doing cardio twice a day already! Ha serves me right!

Errr... none of those sound like cheat meals to me. What do you eat normally? Tuna and Campbells low fat, no carb soup?

To define 'cheat' - things that aren't in my diet:

I'll explain.

ie sugary white rice in sushi is not so good, if my BF has a cheat meal / snack of Chips then I'll have the rice wafters - healthier version of chips, but really high in carbs and if you polish off half the pack in a sitting ..., as for protein bars etc I like to try the high carb versions when having a cheat - like a candy bar but at least I'm still getting some protien out of it, and dried fruit etc ... even if it's sold in a health store it doesn't mean it's good for you 4 dried appricots 1/2's = 2 fresh appricots - 100g of yohurt rasins adds up to at least 2 pro bars worth of cals.

I really don't like McD's or pizza or KFC it's not worth the cardio time to eat that food and feel Sh*t afterwards. Burger Fuel will make a 'Burger' with Salad top and bottom instead of a bun, if you ask nicely ...

And no 'Tuna and Campbells low fat, no carb soup?' isn't all I eat! But thanks for asking.

I didn't know you could get a 'no carb soup'?

FYI, My diet consists of:

Oats, peaches,Brown rice, Kumara, LOTS of Greens, Chicken, Tuna, Smoked fish, Venison, Steak, Pro shakes, and for good behaviour low carb Protein Bar.

OH - I know I like sour worms and 'gummy' candy when I have a sweet craving, is that more of a 'Cheat'?

Burger fuel is pretty good stuff. I dont know about the burger being tiny, if you get a bastard usually it feels pretty hefty. I had one once that felt like it weighed about 700 grams. If I had a food scale I would have weighed it. All I know is after eating it and some fries all I could do was lie on the couch.

Those free burgers are good. Last year they gave me two free burger vouchers for my bday. I thought that was a pretty mean gift thats like 20 bucks worth of burg.

If I have trouble gaining weight (even with eating lots of crap, high in sugar and bad fats) does this mean the only disadvantage is what it is doing to my health? Im under the impression people only have cheat meals so they dont gain excess weight? or is it that combined with the healthy eating lifestyle?

Usually people do it when they are dieting. The cheat meal is just the occasional food of choice usually it's something that someone will enjoy. It's not so they dont gain excessive weight it's usually so they dont get bored of the diet. And yes if you are eating alot of crap and nothing nutritious that is probably why you arn't growing and it is bad for you.

Its also a damn good way to give your bod a boost of good energy. Food plans I design for my clients always have a cheat meal or higher cal meal in them as it stops the bod from plateauing from eating the same food day in day out.

Yea i've read that diets that have a calorie deficit can reduce leptin levels, causing plateus in fat loss. Dosn't take much to trick the body into raising them again though.

Trying to gain size usually means eating alot of the same stuff. I'm not terribly creative in the kitchen so a cheat meals a nice break. Been working as a labourer though since the semester ended been eating a few to many pies for lunch heh darn lunch bars. :D
