how to get kicked out of les mills

how many accidental broken mirrors would it take for them to cancel my membership ? i have been made a permanent firefighter in aus so i cant train at les mills no more but they wanna charge me 33% of whats left on the contract .I even asked nicely to be let off
dont really wanna cost my self any money so whats some good ideas?

Just don't pay you're going to Aus. It will just go to debt collection. After 5-7 years will get taken off your credit score. You planning to come back sooner than that..

yeah id be coming back but not for more than a couple of weeks holiday, last time i went i showed them my contract and had them put it on hold for 6 and then 9 months , am going to try that again except this time there is no end date on my contract ,when i joined i told them about my job and they said its fine to go on extended hold as long as i could show a contract :)

• tell them you feel uncomfortable at a few staff members inappropriate sexual comments about female members. when they ask for specifics say you dont feel comfortable repeating that crude shit.

only the top one got me the ban/let me leave.

basically the owner came up to me pointed at some girls and said "least we got good scenery"

6 months later wanted to leave and he said theres a cancellation fee etc, wrote review on fb saying it made me uncomfortable and the owner is a predator, he called me apologised, transferred me the last month and let me leave, wiped the cancellation fee.

f*ck the gyms. I got collection company chasing me from over two years ago when I moved to Tauranga. I told club physical I was leaving because of the poor state of the gym and they kicked a training partner of mine out. They wouldn't let me cancel my m/s. Then I told them I was moving out of Auckland so wasn't coming to the gym anymore so could I buy the contract out for a partial fee of the total amount. Which is reasonable. They said only buy out option I had was to pay remainder of my contract - $900. I said f*ck you rang Paul Richards he's a coward and wouldn't take my calls. He's a gutless piece of shit and so is his wife, I worked for them too.

 

so anyway I have just told the collection agency to take it to court to be resolved. contracts have to still be reasonable, just because you signed it doesn't mean that's it. Unforeseen circumstances just like yours moving to Aus, how the f*ck are you suppose to use the gym from there. They have their contracts set up like a contract for goods, but it's a service.

 

anyway what happens the company just sell the debt amoungst each other if you leave it long enough the debt will sell for so cheap like 15c in the dollar sometimes less eventually so then if it really bothers you then just do a deal with them. But like if you have a mortgage and you want to borrow more money the bank isn't going to give a shit about some gym membership. These people are crazy trying to force people to pay when they can't use the service anymore. f*ck them.

I think the Commerce commission needs to step in and set up some rules in regards to circumstance changes i.e moving countries, like the author of this threads situation.

i know you can transfer your memberships but you have to know someone who wants it or find someone who does. And I have personally never looked for someone's partial contract to take over. Cbf with that, Iv just joined the gym.

 

cant beat the zero fee, no contract gyms as far as it all goes.

I'd just get syringe and needle and prick foot with it. Take pic of it beside foot in changing rooms and tell anyone in there you stepped on it in shower. Go to desk with syringe with needle and tell them you stepped on it in shower and you're cancelling membership. I'd be surprised if they didn't let you. If they do say no then tell them you're gonna be letting everyone in gym know etc and they'll be paying for your disease testing etc and you'll post pics on fb.

A while back i booked a motel thru expedia. forgot to cancel it, never stayed there. cancelled my debit card so they couldnt take any payment, now the lady keeps ringing me. I gave her a false e mail. and said the card should still work. How long before they give up and write it off?

made a couple phone calls today lady tried telling me 33% was the discounted fee
i told her not to worry and put it on hold indefinitely as when i joined up the membership vulture said i could do extended holds if i had a contract to show

(that way if i come back 2 weeks a year for the next 15 years i can finish my contract)

now they tell me its getting passed to the managers manager to see if they can wave it

im liking that needle in the foot idea if this fails me post the pic on facebook im sure they wouldnt like that, maybe a big scary looking 18g one too

They dont need to look into shit. If you make a contract that lets you use the gym, and don't pay, dosent matter if you arent going to the gym anymore you are using their services without paying them. If people can't convince the gym to let them off the contract using methods like PETN described then they are pussies and should keep paying them.

 

Actually f*ck the commerce commission in general, if you take up a debt, you pay it back. The court system is fully capable of finding a punishment for not doing so or adressing peoples concerns with fraud etc without the assistance of parliament.

Yes they do need to go into it. Otherwise large businesses bully people into all kinds of retarded shit. Paying for a service you're not going to use is just dumb, being forced to pay when your circumstances make it impossible to utilize that service is a scam.

To be fair people probably shouldn't sign these type of contracts. I wouldn't.

 

It's pretty standard for fixed term contracts for a service to make provisions for early termination of the service. For example my employment contract is for a year but me or the employer can terminate it at any time if a weeks notice is given or whoever terminates the contract pays the other party out for that week. If it's not provided for in your contract then you're an idiot for signing it and from a legal perspective you should just suck it up. Don't like it, then don't sign.

 

However big businesses can get fucked, especially les mills and other gyms that only offer retarded contracts because they want this to happen.
