Hey guys is anyone on here competing in this comp i thought if allowed i would offer my services, I'm a Sports massage therapist in CHCH and ive worked with Nrl, Super rugby, State cricket an Netball and numerous professional fighters and will be in the changing rooms for the DUCO Joe parker event in CHCH. But most importantly with the legend Beastbuilder sweating my ring out on his 120kg of lean muscle lol. Enough trumpet blowing im putting this up to offer a good discount for mobile service as it will be significantly cheaper than at the clinic i work at mon-fri.

Just an idea would be cool to meet up and work with some other Gymnation folk!

I think that entry fee includes dinner and a tshirt according to chick i'm seeing. Not sure how many lifters they're expecting but shes lifting at 5pm on a wendesday which seems quite random. I'm putting my name down to spot/load. Looking forward to it should be a good comp.

Lol yea but still ridiculous,  how does that cost $170 ?

I guess I'm just looking at it from the point of everyone having to pay decent dollars for anything in IPF. Having to pay $200 to be "considered" for the team at World's for example, and then expecting the same athletes to cough up close to another $200 straight away after.

South Island IPF has a different crew running it.

That's incl comp banquet at a hotel, and shirt. Not my thing, but to be honest...

170 raw lifters at Nationals last year, about 50 at bench champs, and I think equipped Nats was a 2 day comp too.

There are 58 lifters competing in the Palmy novice comp and CD Bench champs on Saturday.

Much as I'm surprised, the NZPF are growing and that's why the Nats are starting on Wednesday.

yeah 4 day comp, its only 170 as a late fee, if you pay the early bird fee its 150. They normally do a real nice job with the shirts and the venue should be nice, other nationals are normally 120 and that dosent always include a meal, suck if you lift in the first three days tho, as you would most likely be gone amd out of town before the banquet

$170 - that's a fortnight of gear for some of you guys isn't it. What's the big deal? Lol

Like a year of test or 10 weeks gym membership. Yeah it's not much money but it's still a fucking rip off for what it is.

Ok so Gpc nats is $80 most people will buy a t shirt that's $30. $110. And nzpf comp you get a feed after with other lifters. Gpc lifters would go eat afterwards together and talk about the comp, what's the difference?

so it's far from a "rip off".

not to mention everyone in there weight and age categories will have competition and won't just win by default.

A few people have suggested that organisers should make the banquet optional, but if the venue CPF have chosen this year is the same as two years ago, it's a good feed.

Other regions have talked about dropping the comp t-shirt, but making it optional basically means not doing it (minimum print runs etc).

but is it out of line for a major event? The Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is $129 (no meal, no t-shirt), Auckland marathon $175 (no meal).

Well let's be honest it's like people who whine about the price of a bodybuilding comp or even movies. Well all good you're not going to go to those things but some people see value in it. Every event has costs. What would suck would be paying that much and getting nothing and a badly run comp on top of it. Seems like it's not too bad when you account for the costs.

Yup.

Best I've done at a provincials is 3rd and that was when the sport was still growing. This year I got 7th. Who knows where nats will end up with the freaks lifting now. That's ok with me, not really interested in token placings

Didn't you total less last comp than in previous comp though?
