Intermittent fasting any good for fat loss?

Nope.

Calories in > calories  out = weight gain

calories in < calories out = weight loss

there is no magic to it. Not sure why people think  intermittent fasting has some  sort of synergistic affect. It is not phenomena.

If you restricting your calories and intermittently fasting and your restricting the calories to the same degree to not intermittently fasting the net weight loss will be the same.

Simply energy cannot be created nor destroyed .

I spent quite some time on intermittent fasting. I liked it, but I wouldn't say it's significantly better than eating throughout the day. You MAY get a slight advantage, but by far the biggest factor is simply the number of calories - as Jimmybro says.

Having said that, if it's more convenient for you to eat within a certain time window, then do that. I tend to skip breakfast - partly because it makes life easier, and partly because while cuttting it means my other meals can be larger (it's the same caloric total spread over fewer meals). And then if there's any benefit from the intermittent fasting itself, I regard that as a bonus.
