Texas Power bars

Yeah when I first contacted them they said they didn't have any and there wasn't an order placed . I just kept at them every 2 or 3 weeks .. eventually they emailed me saying they were making an order and pre payment would be necessary.  From there it took 6 weeks I think. Probably could have got another bar but I just had my heart set on the texas.

Yes totally this bro! i will eventually get a TPB at a later date, but rest of my equipment gotta be on par as well. Cheers fullas.

Guess I'm a bit late to this discussion~ tyreguy how's the volt bar working so far?

I have an existing very-affordable bar with some rubber grip plates from no.1 but thinking to dive in more seriously. Lately been doing some research on better barbell + bumper plates, Again Faster's evolution barbell def caught my attention with is price and high tensile strength of over 200k psi. Anyone used AF's Evolution barbell or any other recommendations?

Hi Veng, the volt bar is definitely an improvement over the el cheapo for sure. Knurling is finer but sharper = more grip, very good for deadlifting, Squat and bench also as sharper knurling bites/grip into upper back more which is good. If you are going bumper plates even better. I would caution against using cheap iron plates on this tho cos of the slightly larger diameter clearance holes will score your sleeves (like mine) after my 2nd deadlift sesh, I ve just wrapped inner tube around my sleeves to close up the holes in plates a bit so there not clanging around too much. Hope this helps.

Been doing a hard-out search on forums / youtube on  again faster's evolution bar reviews. Interestingly enough there aren't that much! Most comments on how well it's priced and how high spec it is. Me and my mate come to conclusion that it must live up to how much it costs and how well it performs, otherwise surely you'll see someone raging over it. I guess it's a "no news is good news" excuse.

What are the other contenders out there in the NZ market that's reasonable priced and can be considered as high quality barbell (not double the price like Eleiko)?
