Lol buddy you need to get with the times.

The good thing about science is that its true whether you believe it or not (NDGT).

Nothing to do with opinions.

If GDP is a measure of a nations relative wealth, the social progress index is a measure of relative wellbeing. The UN sets their goals based on this. Environmental sustainability, equality and personal freedom all contribute to SPI.

Your attitude seems to be in direct contrast to this meaning that your attitude is in direct contrast to the progression of society - in other words you oppose progress.

A progressive mindset that embraces technology will improve society.

A conservative mindset that abhors technology and resists change can only restrict progress and will probably be best if you are living an Amish or Mormon life. Perhaps you can find some like-minded friends down in Gloriavale?

Firstly I am an athiest.

Secondly you seem to have a very nuanced idea of what a conservative / progressive is.

In a modern sense:

Progressive:

  • Pacificist
  • Anti christian / western
  • Pro muslim / immigration
  • Anti gun rights
  • overtly socialist
  • anti freedom of speech "hate speech laws" etc come to mind
  • Authoritarian
  • Generally does what "feels" good, rather than what does good.
  • Generally pussies

Conservative:

  • Unrestricted liberty
  • Economic, social, and religious freedom
  • Common sense things
  • Not nesessarily religious
  • Pro western
  • Patriotic.

Also f*ck the UN. Many of the scandanivian countries rank at the top of the SPI, yet ironically the ethnic indigenous will be a minority by 2050. The people there have no legal right to defend their lives / property, their culture, or heritage. They have very high taxes (denmarks lowest rate is 40%). Soon it will all come crashing down.

Conservatism has absolutley nothing to do with inhibiting (positive) social progresss, or technology. All we ask is that this progress benefits society, rather than a token gesture to make people feel good, i.e buzzwords like 'clean energy' etc.

For example, I am pro abortion, pro gay marriage, and believe any and all sexual acts should be legal with consent. I believe individuals should be allowed to do whatever the f*ck they want.

Just because a political ideology is called "Progressive" does not mean it actually IS in a literal sense.

Also just to make it clear, I am perfectly ok with clean energy, as long as the government does not force it on anybody, and does not interfere with the fossil fuel industry unless there are dire short term consequences, like the smog you see in beijing.
