i dont like it.quite happy to fly under the radar.couple reasons-i was brought up not to glorify myself secondly i aint that good anyway.anyone else not prominent on social media etc and purposely avoids drawing attention to themselves?

plus i have to admit i dont really care about bodybuilding or powerlifting that much to be honest except ive enjoyed competing, thats pretty fun..dont get into the scene as such..not sure if i could be immersed in it 24/7.

you dont have to reply to everyone and everything maccaz.its ok just to lurk  buddy.Thats kinda the person that im talking about lols, has to give attention where its not needed.plus rambling generally is nonsensical,i think u got my gist.

Not me I love attention. Also love powerlifting and everything and everyone involved in it. Also love instagram because I get hours of laughs a day out if it and follow and meet some cool people.

yeah you are pretty good tho,i did tell you over pm that you are international class imo,if you love it so much..wheres the next comp?lols.

Isn't creating a thread drawing attention to yourself though?

#mindblown

I love attention, I love giving it to other people, for the most part making someone smile makes me feel pretty fkn ace and so the same applies if I get told nice shit back. Each to their own though. Some people claim they don't like it and they don't care but it's kind of obvious when they bash the f*ck out of others who do receive it that they do in fact care about it~

yeah theres a contradiction to a degree, however you dont really know who i am nor do i know you.plus if you thought i made this thread because i dont like the fact you take a lot of pics of yourself,to me its not doing me any harm..that doesnt bother me.lucky you for being a good looking guy.

do you think people who shy away from competing despite being good enough are doing so because of the attention?

I think it's lack of confidence a lot of the time and that's probably why they don't like any attention as well. I think if you try too hard to garner attention whether it's through a million (often provocative) selfies or by antagonizing people who you don't think deserve whatever attention you feel they're getting then that's extremely apparent to anyone looking on.

I think people who compete in anything want attention for at least that.

The very next one in my area im doing man. We dont have stuff all around here though and traveling away is hard because I have a business to run and that comes first. Everybody likes attention to some degree. Whether its posting a selfie , your workout on here, a joke etc we all post it for attention to some degree. And yeah I guess competing to. Otherwise why compete at all?

i understand, its not a professional sport.you will most likely lose money if you pursue your talent.

i lived in a caravan for a few months in Australia with super venomous snakes sliding by, ffs.lols.however some of these Aussies are giant rustlers, those snakes were probably harmless as,but i wasnt gonna tease 1 just to find out if they were telling the truth or not...oops dun goofed poisonous as hell bye bye.im not steve irwin..my point is i was prepared to live somewhere kinda shit in order to try and fulfil a dream of mine, and i had no idea whether i was going to get to where i wanted or not.

Ultimately truth be told im not good enough but at least i gave it a go.

you dont even have to do that bro,you are also a far better lifter than me.i look at that deadlift of yours and im like wat?its there if you want it.

i saw an opportunity to get to the platform eventually.i had to move to create a pathway as staying put wouldnt of got me anywhere i think.i saw how strong the incumbents were here..no way was i gonna beat them,so off i went.

Well it probably also has a lot to do with what you think of as an achievement. For example one guy might think his 180k bench is huge and so he wants to let everyone know how awesome he is and of course everyone affirms him. Another guy might think that his 180k bench isn't worth raving on about so he doesn't feel like it's worth talking about... either because he wants to do more or because he didn't have to work that hard for it... I guess a lot of attention seeking comes from your perceived value of yourself or the things you're doing? And perspective too I guess. That same guy you might think is clearly good enough to compete might think he's not going to achieve the goals he sets for himself or..... he doesn't care about comparing himself/his lifts to anyone else. Or perhaps he's scared if he tests himself in a comp he doesn't lift what he thinks he will and then.... illusion shattered lol bloody complex topic.
