NZFBB VS NABBA

I went to both NZFBB n NABBA Nationals in the weekend and here is what I observed . Judging , NZFBB judging had no scrutinear,s nor any organised gathering of scores and collation , Judges were talking amoungst them selves whilst judging , on their mobile phones whilst judging ,arguing amongst themselves whilst athlete's where on stage half way through comparisons , Classes being called out then returned back stage because of disputes , judges not even looking at stage during some comparrison rounds . NABBA judging . 9 Formal Judges, 4 test judges , 2 x Scrutanares , 2 x Score Coilators,No talking between judges ,No phones,Each judge giving opportunity to rearange the line up to their satisfaction in comparisons ,No bickering,No arguing ,No out side influences. The Venues , NZFBB,very poor , flat seating,never good for bodybuilding ,very bad lighting , no food or drink services for the paying public and or athletes , Nabba venue ,top quality international standard best lighting Ive ever seen, summary for my money , NABBA by a long shot better atmosphere and quality run show.

At the couple of shows I have watched the last few years nzfbb judges haven't even had score sheets to fill out it's quite comical really. Like there's not even the pretence of fair judging. I mean cmon you've got the ponies at the front desk... at least make them act like their doing something ha ha ha ha

kind of mind blown hearing this having never been to a show, i feel like the things theyre missing are little cheap things they could easily improve on even just little touches like pretending to  judge properly etc, add a whole lot more credibility

Ifbb in Australia is run very differently but that's because it's not a business. Still judges pair up and try and manipulate results for their own gain. Whether it's in order to make their competitors win or whatever else... still I feel like if a guy or girl is head and shoulders above the rest they won't screw them.

And that is exactly right, if you really want to win and avoid bad judging you have to make it so blatantly obvious that you are better and the judging is corrupt that the judges do not want to look that bad.

It's a nice theory, but at the top levels (which is where fair judging is needed most) the contestants are much more competitive, and the differences between them are often minimal.
