And he's still the same Harry. Just come and compete, don't care what you did last week etc. As for legal action that's a joke. The only winners would be the lawyers. Basically original NABBA would rather spend money on supporting athletes to get overseas than on petty personality squabbles. Comfortable in their skin. r

He was always nice enough to me even though I was just making up numbers at his comps and I have many friends who competed internationally for them. He gave you the fair opportunity. NABBA just doesn't have the same appeal as NZFBB cos of the pro status lol so many millionaires in pro bodybuilding ha ha ha ha

also what makes them pro? do they get a salary from the nzifbb?

from what I understand it only allows them to compete in Pro Shows. So potentially a "Pro" athlete that doesn't place in any shows does not actually make money from competing.

I just want to thank Pseudonym for creating this forum, and for helping me out in my foruming career, without his help or guidance, I wouldn't be half the mod that I am today

I like your attitude, mate. Keep it up and you could become Gymnation's first pro mod. :P

Moe started a vendeta against the then President and IFBB committe at the Anual General Meetting . He managed to get numerous individuals to sighn up to the IFBB giving them voting rights many of whom had nothing to do with bodybuilding .He managed to get Mark Stewart voted out and hymself in as President to which he prombtly made the IFBB into a company and him the owner .No one ever questioning this move . Through out this process committee members , opponents and IFBB members were threatened with violence and bullied even threatened with arson to individual property by Moe,s band of brothers .

There's almost certainly conversation about it on this forum, I would think. Can you remember how long ago this happened?

lol, problems back in 2010

one post in particular:

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

Dear Mark,

This email is to authorize you to immediately form an acting committee to try to correct the disastrous problems currently occurring in New Zealand under the leadership of Moe El Moussawi.

This committee will be expected to place confidence in the IFBB affiliate, the NZFBB.

You must do this immediately to stop the unrest that is occurring until democratic elections can be held.
These elections should be as soon as possible for a transparent transfer.

You should notify the current Vice President Terry Hills of our plans as Moe El Mousawwi is not taking call nor is he returning calls.
Terry should table this notification for the benefit of Moe’s committee.

We have notified Jim Manion of our decision via our Professional IFBB Pro director Tony Doherty. Jim Manion has no objection with what we are doing and he supports us and our actions 100%. Jim has stated that he has never given permission to Moe to use his name in the manner which Moe has been doing.

Copies of the masses of emails of complaints about Moe El Moussawi that we have received will be forwarded to Pamela Kagan to record for the IFBB Pro League.

Copies of these emails, as well as this mandate to you, will also be sent to Bill Tierney IFBB General Secretary, Wanda Tierney IFBB Women’s Committee and Rafael Santonja IFBB President.

We have every confidence in you and your NZFBB members and officials to handle this matter appropriately and to rebuild the federation for our wonderful sport that we all love.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Graham
IFBB Vice President South Pacific/Oceania
IFBB Executive Council Member

well that worked a treat didn't it!!

As for being a 'pro' in NZ, basically it means that you can't compete anymore in NZ, that sounds like great fun...

For 95% of those made Pro in New Zealand there is no benefit, all it achieves is ending their competitive carrear in NZ

Moe has posted that this years Nationals will be the biggest Nationals ever with 183 competitors. Thats not accurate at all !!The NZFBB allows competitors to compete in multiple classes and then calculates the number of competitors in each class giving a false count .Reality is there will be apx 110 athletes there this weekend as thats the total amount you can get to qualify per year per show per class ...more bullshit ..the other feds let athletes compete in only one class at the nationals which is right as judging critera shpuldnt allow people to cross classes .

Dan competed and won overall Physique

But he wasn't awarded a pro card. In fact no was.

The lose guideline for being awarded your pro card was you had shown nzifbb loyalty by only competing with them for at least 2 years

Compete at an international IFBB event like the Arnold's Ohio or Arnold's Aus and place well

Win your class and or overall at Nationals

Dan has completed all these tasks, consistently placing well (2nd at last years nats, overall at Waikato and Auckland champs, 2nd at Arnold's Aus, 2nd at Arnold Ohio, class b and overall winner at nationals, only ever competed in IFBB)

There was also no classic physique cards handed out and no overall which is confusing because Alma and Zoheb both won their classes but didn't go up against each other. No doubts they have both pro worthy physiques for the criteria set out

I can only think that perhaps Moe will have to nominate pro recommendations to the pro league before being allowed to confirm them. This may mean Dan and possibly other overall winners will also receive their pro cards later in the year

He handed them out willy nilly in the past, look at all the dreamers with them that aren't even actively using it (competing). I wouldn't be surprised if a higher power told him to settle down. After all it is meant to be an elite league is it not?

He handed some out in March, I don't think NZ is big enough to have two separate pro card handouts a year. What's wrong with once a year if not good enough, wait till next year.

Yes that's all very well Tom and that was also my thoughts

But there was no announcement that this would be the case. Everybody thought they were competing for pro cards as it was billed as a pro qualifier

Aside from Steve (who has yet to compete internationally in IFBB) all the other overall winners assumed they were competing for pro cards. Be good if the criteria was a bit more clear cut
