What the actual f*ck? Inability to compete, not allowed at the expo. They will not break him. So much going on behind the scenes but cant say? Cant see what hes done that could be that bad they'd take his dream away from him like that. Surely not just over signing the contract. Politics. Gonna cause a mass uproar with huge fanbase though

Wtf I was hoping to see another repeat of last year between phil Heath and Kai Greene . When they came close to having a scrap on stage. Not to sure who I am going to pick for second place now with Kai Greene being out of the Olympia . Might have pick somebody like shawn rhoden to finish second or Dennis wolf

I like kai. Not a huge fan of the way he speaks all motivational but hes a fantastic bodybuilder and truthfully one of the only ones who could dethrone phil if he comes in right. He did a lot of things when he was younger which im sure he regrets now but we all have pasts. You imagine having somthing youve worked for your whole life being taken away from you like that. Obviously we dont know the real reason but hell to see a grown man cry like that .

I am not much of a fan of Kai but I do enjoy watching his motivatinal videos on YouTube and admire the way that Kai speaks . I can just image how Kai feels just now being able to compete in this years Olympia that must be hard not being able to that .

Politics aside (which may or may not come out in due course)

Very simple # Sign Contract before deadline = compete

If you dont AMI Weider still have shown discretion in the past a la Kevin Levrone, to bend the rules and allow a late enrollment, especially for a Marque Athlete.

But when your management try and play hard ball with AMI/Weider over not paying for the expo space, union load in/set up costs etc then AMI/Weiders charity and discretion would not be shown and they wouldnt make the accomodation, especially for Kai who probably isnt the ALL AMERICAN poster boy that Weider have liked to champion in the past perhaps.

Very simple, Its sounds like the athlete has taken the advice of a very pushy management team or supplement company to use their athletes Marquee Status to bully the Olympia Expo/AMI/Weider people into waving thousands of dollars in costs of expo set up fees with the threat of not signing if they didnt get their way and its backfired badly.

In the end the public and the athlete gets hurt (financially and at a cost of all the contest prep),The other top 6 guys will benefit financially though as they move up.

The athlete should have told his management team to pull there head in and just pay the costs after a stalemate was reached so he could compete and sell his brand at the EXPO, Big/Novice mistake from his team (based on the info provided).

The US is ALOT different from over here, over here if you exhibit at the expos you can either do the set up your self or pay people to do this. In the US this is very UNIONISED, no one even gets into the cart dock without paying the unions to do the installs set up and by the sounds of it no one, no matter how bigger firm ever gets free EXPO space as AMI/Weider will have pre paid for the venue hire and will be recouping their costs and making profit of this.

Very sad but ultimately naive management. Who knows in bodybuilding though it could change in the next few days but I doubt it.

I also can't see things changing in the next few days as well. Given what has happened already. Not to sure if you guys know this already over on YouTube there is a good video by tiger fitness with the owner of Tiger fitness talking about this. Watched it this morning and it's worth watching.

obviously unavoidable, but i fkn hate controversy in sport, usually because of $$

im glad apart from the odd social media blow up and argument between feds, theres not much of this shit in powerlifting (no money no controversy i guess lol)

No controversy or arguments between feds? Lmao. ... every time there's an argument another federation springs up. There doesn't have to be money there just has to be differences of opinion.

Ha ha ha ha ha it's definitely the wrong way to handle it. I recall a bit of hitching and moaning at the advent of some of the power lifting feds.. maybe if one of them had the right platform we'd have seen crying :) I'm all for it. Men should be able to express their anguish. Plus it's amusing as hell.

And introduces us to the politics. It is just silly. I saw a thing today on rxmuscle saying that essentially the ifbb didn't say he couldn't sign to compete it's just his management decided to lever that against booth payments or some crap. So his issue isn't with the ifbb. Just a shame is all. I was looking forward to seeing him onstage with Phil again.
