Why are we such a rare breed?

so anyway, i live for lifting. I only go to work so i can get home to lift, if i could make money out of it i would. I still have a great job that pays the bills. But why does no one get it, im at lunch at work and am like 'so um Brett Gibss just totalled 800" No one cares about this shit but us, im ok with that, i actually like being in a minority, i like being different, and i like being stronger

Everyone's got something right? I don't get why people spend all their money on cars.. or football or the stock market. I mean fundamentally I get why but personally I just have no interest. Even in our broad interest group we have different interests. For example I don't really find much interest in power lifting per se. Or the specifics of it. Whereas others might find the specifics of bodybuilding boring. I enjoy seeing guys lift heavy stuff but probably enjoy strongman as a spectator way more than power lifting.

I do enjoy the personalities in pl though. The elite guys, they're generally real Crack ups. Same as strongman. Bodybuilders... generally not so much.

I wouldnt say we are different, just passionate about different things to average people. Like said above, some guys get right into cars or drags . They live for that rush. They could sit there and talk to me about engines and im like "cool bro" not getting it and all the while im thinking about is how much im going to lift tonight. I like being in that minority to and while the average person cant understand what we get so excited about it for to us its the best.

lol i know, and even worse for a girl! when i start to talk ( with one of my boys who is into fitness as well as he plays rugby) about weights and how much i wanna train and how much i may put myself as a goal to be lifting in 2 months and things ( as today me all excited talking about benching and the Georgia boy lifting 440 kgs lol) i have comments like "huh? really? a girl of your size?"..... are gonna get all muscly as a man?" ..... "girls dont look like girs in that shit".... blah blah,... .lol i just laugh and i say oh well we will see whos gonna kick whos ass in few months buddy (rising my eyebrow) all of them overweight and weak of course lol specially in my work, such manly industry gets tricky time to time hehehe... but none of those words or comments make me think twice, im very excited about it

different strokes for different folks man.

most people love watching sport around work and go on about it like they key stakeholder in allblacks or related to them.

personally why people watch sport always stumped me.. what is so interesting about it. just watching not doing, why would i want to watch when i can used my time to go and do something i enjoy like lift weights or whatever. i just watch highlights and stuff and just look to see who won and lost, but everyone else is obsessed talking about specifics and player personal life / history etc.  i don't get it .. just like people don't understand why we on this site do what we do i guess
