Help Needed Please!

For 3 1/2 years I have been working away at getting sufficient size and definition to compete internationally, and this year it is going to happen!

However, as you know costs are a factor and I have started a Give A Little page to augment my fundraising activities.

Please if you can help me out and are willing to consider giving a little this would be so appreciated, every bit helps!

The address is www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/christineh

PS My son who has completed his Patisserie training is baking cakes and selling if anyone in Auckland is interested, the choice is carrot cake, banana cake, or chocolate cake! PM me if interested!

Firstly...

What are the estimated total costs? How much of that will you be paying yourself? What components makes up the total cost, and what are the proportions of each expense? Why cant you or why are you unwilling to pay for it all yourself?

You should have answered these questions on your page. Its too vague.

Estimated costs determined by NABBA to the Philippines competition are $5000 and to Germany it is $10000.

In talking to NABBA we are relatively confined to travel arrangemen's as they require them to be. From their perspective l guess it can be difficult to pre pay fares etc.

I will be paying as much as l can, that goes without saying. And as stated l am completing other fundraising.

All of this while in contest prep can be very demanding and detracts from the focus of getting in shape for multiple competitions, but l am managing it!

I am more than happy to answer any questions but it can at times be very hard to predict everything that everyone wants to know. So maybe it is easier to answer individual questions as they arise.

Im assuming its just flights and accommodation for $5k or $10k? Why is it so expensive? Seems like a lot compared to the normal cost of airfares and accommodation for either of those places

For the answer to that question you would need to ask NABBA as they are the body that we are required to work with in order to compete, they have provided the estimated cost.

do you have to pay them and they organise the flights and everything?

surely you just have to be there on the day etc and its not their concern how you do it?

might be able to cut cost a bit if you get your own flights? just a thought to take a bit of the pressure off?

il chip in on the givealittle anyway

That's a good idea by rebel to start a page up on give a little to help raise to compete overseas ie in Germany or the Philippines since it is expensive for us kiwis to compete overseas due to the long distances flights which would include spending money on the likes of food accomodation etc.

Nope haven't got the money to this very day. Give you guys a good examaple on how expensive its for us kiwis to compete overseas. On of my trips to Auckland one of my friends in Auckland they told me how much money they had to spend when they did the arnold can't remember which year it was they had to spend over 20 grand which would be a combo of airfares, accomodation ,food, shopping etc.

It's expensive but it's not that expensive.

My costs purely for GPC worlds in Vegas in nzd -

Flights $1600

Accom $920

Entry fee $120

I fundraised $1300 from my raffle and GPCnz has given me some sponsorship money.

Then there is food for the week and activities. Activities are obviously optional. Of course this is all costing me more cause I'm travelling round abit afterwards but I'm not planning on going to USA again anytime soon so wanted to see the shit I wanted to see.

Conclusion is you can do it cheap, moderate or expensive.

And $20k for Arnold. No.
